Looking forward to gathering together this morning as we continue our journey through 1 John!

This week, Pastor Corey will be preaching from 1 John 2:18–27 and considering John’s warning about the “last hour,” the importance of recognizing truth from error, and the encouragement to abide in Christ and remain faithful to the truth we have received.

In a world filled with competing voices, we need the truth of God’s Word more than ever.

It’s easy to show up, know the right answers, and check all the boxes. But knowing about a person is completely different from being in a real relationship with them.

The same is true with God. We can know the Scriptures, attend church, and say the right things—but truly knowing God changes us from the inside out.

When we truly know Him, His love begins to shape our priorities, deepen our patience, and grow our kindness toward the people right in front of us.

Faith isn’t just about what we know. It’s about who we know—and how that relationship changes the way we live and love.

Lord, help us not just know about You, but truly know You. And let that relationship be evident in the way we love others.

We’re looking forward to gathering together this morning for worship, fellowship, and a time in God’s Word.

Our focus will be 1 John 2:12–17, where John reminds us of who we are in Christ and challenges us not to become captivated by the things of this world. In a world filled with distractions and competing desires, God calls us to remember what truly matters and to live with our hearts set on Him.

Come expecting to be encouraged, challenged, and reminded of the hope we have in Jesus!

John reminds us that loving God is inseparable from loving His people. It’s easy to say we walk in the light, but Scripture challenges us to examine how we treat our brothers and sisters in Christ.

As Christians, do we truly love the people of God?
Not in words, but in patience, grace, forgiveness, encouragement, and truth.

If we harbor hatred, bitterness, or division, we are not walking as Christ called us to walk. But when we love one another, the light of Christ is seen in us.

This Sunday, we’ll be reflecting on what it truly means to love one another.

In 1 John 2:7–11, we’re reminded that walking in the light is inseparable from the way we love our brothers and sisters. Then, in John 13:35, Jesus gives us a powerful reminder: “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

What does our love—or lack of love—say about the light we are walking in?

As we prepare our hearts for Sunday, may we come ready to examine not only what we believe, but how we live it out in our relationships with one another.

Our love is a witness. Our love points to Jesus. Our love matters.
