National Weekend of Prayer and Action for Elder Justice is Friday, Saturday and Sunday June 12 - 14 with the Observation of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) on Monday, June 15. On this special weekend of prayer and action for elder justice, we pray for the courage and wisdom, humility and grace, to act with justice.

We ask to become more aware.
We pray for the strength to hear those whose voices are silenced.
We pray for the courage to speak out against abuse of older adults.
We pray for the moral conviction to call elder abuse a sin.
Prompt us not to look away,
Remind us not to forget,
Provoke us to action.
Until every older adult is respected,
Until every older adult receives the loving care they deserve,
May we work to end elder abuse,
May we work to end all forms of abuse,
May abuse find no place in our families or communities,
May abuse find no place in our hearts,
For there is no excuse for abuse.

This coming Sunday will be our last Sunday with Pastor Neal Brantley preaching as he is transitioning to another church....

This coming Sunday will be our last Sunday with Pastor Neal Brantley preaching as he is transitioning to another church. He will officially remain with us until June 30th. We are grateful for the time we had him at our church, and we know we could not have gotten through some of the struggles without his calming presence. We wish you well and God Bless You in your new journey.

This fall, the Center for Leadership Excellence is launching their 2026-2027 NextGen Faith Builders Children’s Ministry Cohort — and we’re inviting children's ministry leaders to join us! Together, we’ll explore essential topics like planning well, equipping volunteers, inclusive faith formation, and engaging families and communities beyond the church walls. The cohorts meet on Zoom for seven sessions, and include learning, idea-sharing, and mutual support from fellow children’s leaders and guest speakers. Apply to register for the next cohort, which will begin in September 2026 and will continue through March 2027, meeting on the 2nd Wednesday of each month with an orientation on September 2. https://nccumc.org/leadership/nextgen/

Join us this Sunday for a joyful day of worship, remembrance, and reunion at Efland United Methodist Church as we host our Homecoming Worship & Celebration! Worship Service begins at 11:00 AM with our guest preacher being Chaplain Lori Higgins.

We'll gather in praise and thanksgiving, followed by a Homecoming Meal filled with feasting and fellowship in the James Dunn Building. It is a covered dish meal and we are asking everyone in attendance to bring enough food for their family as well as another one.
