All throughout the Scriptures, we hear from the holy prophets and apostles that God is not a man, God does not lie, and God does not change (1 Samuel 15:29, Mal 3:6, Titus 1:2). How difficult as a human being is it to wrap your mind around that, when all we know from a flesh and blood perspective is evil? To know that the Lord is invisible, yet omnipresent; transcendent, yet personal, is hard for many to understand. However, when you look at the entire creation, isn’t it so evident that something greater than us has His hand in it from the beginning? I recently saw a clip of a testimony from a renowned eye doctor out of Nashville, TN, named Dr. Ming Wang. He holds two doctoral degrees, one from Harvard, and has performed over 55,000 LASIK eye surgeries. He immigrated to the US from China, having a strictly atheist background. During his studies, he began wondering about the structure of the human eye and how astronomically complex it is, and how millions of cells must align perfectly for a person to have good vision and would otherwise have severe vision issues if just a few cells are out of line. He could not explain in his mind how there is not a creator, so he eventually conceded that there is one, and after that, he came to a conclusion in alignment with the Scriptures after being taught, that all things are created through Jesus and for Jesus, and without Him, there was not anything made that was made (Col. 1:16-20, John 1:3). This puts all of John 9 in a greater perspective now, doesn’t it? The One who created vision and hearing and mobility and speaking and thought and life has the power to have all of these restored and graciously gave those blessed with the Spiritual Gifts of healing, and of miracles, the ability in faith and love to do the same in this present age (Romans 8:11, James 5:14-15, 1 Corinthians 12:9-10).
Take time today to thank the LORD for His goodness and grace, the fact that He is the One Constant Source of Truth and Stability in our lives, our Creator, who lives forever and ever.
