2. Describe Solomon's relationship with God at the time of 3:3-4.
3. What is Solomon doing when God asks him to make his request?
4. What does God promise to give Solomon in response to his request for wisdom?

We will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper this Sunday. Join us at 10am.

These words are spoken in the upper room on the night of his arrest. Jesus knows what is coming. He has had hours to be alone if he wanted. Instead he gathers his friends, takes ordinary bread, and turns it into the most significant meal in history.

"Do this in remembrance of me." He is asking to be remembered. Not in a monument or a doctrine, but at a table. In the breaking of bread. In the act of eating together.

Luke 22:20, the very next verse, records him lifting the cup: "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you." The old covenant was written in stone. The new one was written in sacrifice. Every time you remember him, you are standing inside a covenant that he kept on your behalf.

To the pastor’s wife of a “small” church: your ministry matters. ❤️

Every person is a soul. Every person is created in the image of God. Whether that’s 10 people or 1,000 people, each one matters the same to Him.

God is not impressed by numbers the way people are. He is not a God of favoritism. In fact, when David numbered the people in pride and self-reliance, the Lord was displeased (2 Samuel 24). Ministry was never meant to be about building our platform—it’s about faithfully loving and serving the people God places in front of us.

I thought about this yesterday when I saw the bags lined up on the counter at church for an event. A teen looked at them and said, “That’s it? Only that many people are coming?”

I smiled and said, “Each one of those bags represents a person. And each person matters more than we can imagine.”

What a needed perspective for ministry.

God has not necessarily called us to have a big ministry, but He has called us to be faithful in the ministry He has given us. The crowds may vary, but faithfulness should not.

Mama, pastor’s wife, ministry leader—do not despise small things in the world's eyes. Jesus often stopped for the one person in front of Him. A widow. A child. A blind beggar. A woman at a well. Heaven rejoices over one soul.

“So then, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.” —1 Corinthians 4:2

“Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” —Galatians 6:9

Faithfulness matters to God more than popularity ever will. ❤️
