🛎️ 📝Happy First Day of School, Edmonds! 🚌🎒

Today, we’re holding in prayer everyone beginning a new season of learning: young children entering a classroom for the first time, K–12 students, college and graduate students, adults returning to school or beginning new training, and everyone learning outside of a traditional classroom.

We also lift up the teachers, professors, counselors, administrators, support staff, bus drivers, coaches, volunteers, caregivers, and families who walk alongside them.

God, be present in every classroom, campus, home, and place of learning. Bring courage for new beginnings, patience for challenging days, joy in discovery, and communities where every person feels safe, supported, welcomed, and valued for exactly who they are.

Education has long been woven into the life of ELC (Edmonds Lutheran Church). Throughout our congregation’s history, our community has included many teachers, school staff, educators, students, and families, and we know how much heart, care, and dedication it takes to help people learn and grow. That deep commitment to children and learning also helped inspire and create the ELC Learning Center, a ministry that continues to care for and nurture young learners today.

To everyone beginning a new school year or season of learning, your Edmonds Lutheran Church Community is cheering you on and praying for you! 💛

While our Pastor Tim took a much needed vacation this summer, we were blessed to welcome four wonderful guest preachers to the pulpit at Edmonds Lutheran Church!

We are deeply grateful to Red Burchfield, Heidi Francis, Dave Ellingson, & Zach Herzog for sharing their wisdom, faith, stories, and unique perspectives with our community. Each brought a meaningful word and reminded us of the gift that comes from hearing the Gospel proclaimed through different voices.

Thank you for worshipping with us and being part of our summer at ELC. We give thanks to God for each of you and for the many voices that help us listen, reflect, and grow together in faith. ✝️🫶

How many keys can you count? Moving always brings out the key audit as you return and replace- and try to consolidate and pack up all your belongings!! Jesus was on the move with Amanda and Kelsey this summer as they packed up and moved up North to have a shorter commute and be closer to work. They both are still looking forward for most others things to stay the same like joining us online and in-person worship when they are able, as well as continuing to support the church and ministries and being part of their church family in different ways.

Let's pray for them during this transition time as they make their new place a cozy home for themselves and all their fur-family members.

They'd also like to give a big shout-out to the Brady family who helped them with moving day!
