🥣🥛 Summer Stock-up: Chase Lake Pop-Up Pantry

At Edmonds Lutheran Church, we believe that caring for our neighbors is a year-round calling.

For many years, Edmonds Lutheran Church has proudly supported students and families at Chase Lake Elementary through the Bottomless Backpack Program. Thanks to the faithful leadership of Miss Diane M. and other dedicated donors and volunteers, countless children have received weekend food support, helping ensure that students have access to nutritious meals beyond the school day. Through Miss Diane's leadership, ELC's Bottomless Backpack ministry has quietly and faithfully helped bridge food gaps for local students for many years.

As the school year comes to a close and families prepare for summer break, we are grateful to continue partnering with Chase Lake Elementary through this important community effort.

To wrap up the school year, the Chase Lake Food Support Program is offering a "Pre-Summer Break" Pop-Up Pantry on Friday, June 12th from 2-5pm at Chase Lake Elementary School.

Their Spring Break Pop-Up Pantry served over 50 Chase Lake families 🫶

The mission of this event is to deliver fresh food and panty items to Chase Lake families and other Edmonds schools and families ahead of Summer break beginning June 18th.

🍎 To request food, please opt-in to gauge the total number of families interested in participating so there is enough supplies.

🛒 To donate food, please sign up to shop from the preferred shopping list.

💚 To donate money and we'll do the shopping for you, please donate to PTSA Pop-Up Pantry via PayPal.

🌈🏳️‍⚧️Happy Pride Month from Edmonds Lutheran Church 💙💚💛🧡❤️💜

At Edmonds Lutheran Church, Pride Month is a celebration of belovedness. It is an opportunity to celebrate the beautiful diversity of God's creation and to recommit ourselves to the work of welcome, justice, and belonging. We give thanks for our LGBTQIA+ siblings, friends, family members, leaders, volunteers, and neighbors who help make our community richer, stronger, and more vibrant.

As a Reconciling in Christ congregation, we affirm that God's love is not limited by gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation. Every person is created in God's image and worthy of dignity, belonging, and love. ELC believes every person deserves to be seen, valued, and embraced as a beloved child of God.

For those who have found affirmation in faith communities, we celebrate with you.
For those who have experienced hurt, exclusion, or rejection in the name of religion, we acknowledge that pain and continue striving to be a community where grace is lived out in tangible ways.

Holy Trinity Sunday | Sent in Mercy, Love & Compassion

This Sunday, we gather around one of the great mysteries of the Christian faith: the Holy Trinity.

God as three and one can be beautiful, confusing, and full of questions, and that is okay. Pastor Tim will invite us to wrestle honestly with the mystery of the Trinity and reflect on Jesus’ call to go into the world, baptize, teach, and make disciples.

At ELC, we hear that call not as pressure to convert, but as an invitation to live and share the way of Jesus: mercy, love, compassion, and forgiveness.

Pentecost wasn't about everyone becoming the same. It was about people from different places, backgrounds, and experiences discovering that they could still understand one another.

Pentecost reminds us that God's Spirit moves beyond walls, languages, and expectations. It's the story of people from different backgrounds finding connection, understanding, and purpose together. As we move toward Trinity Sunday, we continue reflecting on a God who is relational, communal, and always drawing people into deeper connection, with God, one another, and the world.

This week, may we listen with curiosity. May we lead with compassion.
& May we continue building communities where people feel seen, valued, and welcomed.

🎓There are a few ways to celebrate and shout out your graduate this year! 🎓 whether they are graduation from pre-k, high school, college, or any other big achievement!

1. We will post a collage of all the graduates
2. A customized prayer shawl for their milestone

📸 We would love for you to submit a photo of your grad (child, grandchild, nephew, cousin, close friend) for the collage. If you can’t obtain a photo, we will still be happy to acknowledge their achievement by name.

🧶ELC would also like to give each one a Prayer Shawl from our ELC Prayer Shawl Ministry so that each grad knows that their community is wishing them well and blessing them on the next chapter of their story.
