“The Most Dangerous Person In the Room”
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

Not every Christian will serve in their nations military, but every born-again believer is at war.
It is a physical, emotional, physiological and spiritual war, for the eternity of your soul and your loved ones.

Jesus tells us that the meek will inherit the earth, Matthew 5:5. But unlike our common English nomenclature, meek means the opposite of weak.

The word for “meek” is πραεῖς (praeis), the plural of πραΰς (praus). Meaning: Gentle, humble, mild, with the ability to be violent and strong but keeping it under control.
It describes strength under control — like a powerful horse that responds obediently to its rider. Not weakness, but power channeled rightly.
Jesus describes Himself with this word: “I am gentle [praus] and humble in heart” (Matthew 11:29), and He was anything but weak.

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:13 (NIV)
The best warriors fight their adversary because they love their country, families and loved ones, not because they hate their enemy.

We also need to equip our brothers and sisters to step boldly into the spiritual realm through bold, faith-filled prayers amid the battles we face. Jesus confronted the enemy directly by wielding Scripture as His weapon. Rather than playing defense, He advanced with truth, exposing and overcoming every deception.
Remember, the full Armor of God features the sword of the Spirit—which is the Word of God—as our one truly offensive tool. As Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 10:3, “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.”
As warriors and guardians, we’re not called to focus only on strengthening our physical bodies. We’re summoned to exercise the supernatural authority the Holy Spirit has given us, actively declaring victory and pushing back the forces of darkness.

2 Corinthians 10:3, “Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh”.

When a demon enters a place they should recognize you as the most dangerous person in the room.

“But I will encamp at my temple to guard it against marauding forces. Never again will an oppressor overrun my people, for now I am keeping watch.”
‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭9‬:‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In Jesus mighty name, amen.

ALPHA WARRIOR DEVOTIONAL19 June 2026

“ABBA”

In the quiet moments of prayer, Jesus cried out, “Abba, Father” (Mark 14:36). This tender Aramaic word, preserved in the New Testament, carries profound intimacy. “Abba” is not a distant, formal title; it is the affectionate equivalent of “Daddy” or “Papa”—a child’s trusting call to a loving father.
Paul echoes this in Romans 8:15 and Galatians 4:6: “For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’”
Through Christ, believers are adopted into God’s family and invited into the same intimate relationship Jesus enjoyed with the Father. This is revolutionary grace: the Almighty Creator of the universe welcomes us as beloved children, not servants.

This heavenly reality reflects earthly fatherhood. God designed fathers to reflect His fatherly heart. Statistics underscore the profound impact of a father’s presence. According to research, children with involved fathers are twice as likely to enter college or find stable employment after high school, 75% less likely to have a teen pregnancy, and 80% less likely to spend time in jail.
Father-absent homes account for 71% of high school dropouts, 90% of homeless and runaway children, and 63% of youth suicides.
Involved fathers also boost academic success—children are 43% more likely to earn A’s—and foster emotional security and resilience.
These outcomes align with Scripture. Proverbs 22:6 instructs, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Fathers shape legacies that echo into eternity.

A good father embraces four key roles:
* Priest: He leads his family spiritually. Like Joshua declaring, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15), a father guides devotions, models prayer, and points his children to Christ. He teaches God’s Word daily (Deuteronomy 6:6-7) and intercedes for his family.
* Provider: Beyond financial provision—“If anyone does not provide for his relatives… he has denied the faith” (1 Timothy 5:8)—he nurtures emotionally. He offers affirmation, wisdom, and presence that builds self-worth, reflecting God’s generous care (Matthew 7:9-11).
* Protector: He guards physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Ephesians 6:4 calls fathers to bring up children “in the discipline and instruction of the Lord” without provoking anger. He shields from harm, confronts evil, and fosters safe spaces for vulnerability.
* Present: He is fully engaged. When with his family, he puts aside distractions—phones, computers—to listen, play, and invest in their lives and activities. Deuteronomy 6 emphasizes being present in everyday moments: sitting, walking, lying down, and rising.
Fathers, you are critical to the health and stability of the family. In a world hungry for true masculinity, you were built for such a time as this! Rise up as Abba’s reflection—intimate, strong, sacrificial. Your faithfulness today writes stories of generational blessing. Lean into the Holy Spirit’s power; the same Abba who calls you “son” equips you to lead well. Your children, your wife, and your community need the man God created you to be. Stand firm, warrior of faith—your legacy will glorify the Father through eternity.

ALPHA WARRIOR DEVOTIONAL18 June 2026

“Spirit of Reconciliation”

For many ,Father’s Day is bitter sweet.
For some, we have lost our Father’s and hope to be reunited with them someday in heaven. For some their fathers are still living, but they are “lost” to other factors.

This Father’s Day, make it exceptionally special and reconcile with someone who should be special in your life.

In the Bible, reconciliation (primarily from the Greek katallagē and related terms like katallassō) refers to the restoration of a broken or hostile relationship to one of harmony, peace, and friendship—specifically, the change or exchange that brings alienated parties back into unity.

““So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

If you are a father who has made mistakes, abandoned physically or emotionally, now is the time to reconcile.

Don’t say “I’m sorry”, that is focused on you. Start out with ‘Will you forgive me?”. This depicts a heart that is seeking reconciliation, repentive, and honest. We can’t change the mistakes we’ve made, or the damage and pain they have caused; but we can’t change reconcile with loved ones and God, and begin the journey of healing, respiration and peace.

Forgiveness is a mandate from God. Our purpose is to genuinely seek it, we are not responsible for the result if it is given or not.

Are you struggling? Feel like prayers aren’t being heard? Feel like everything’s a battle? Feel frustrated?

Matthew 6:14-15 (ESV): “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”(This follows the Lord’s Prayer, linking our forgiveness of others to receiving God’s forgiveness.)

Lighten your burden by laying down the spirit of offense and wearing the spirit of freedom and peace that is in reconciliation.

Fatherhood is the cornerstone of the family and we do immeasurable damage when we don’t live up to our commitments and Godly duties, but we all fall short and must repent and receive the forgiveness that God generously provides for us. Then we can move forward, being better, doing better, as we grow.

Who in your life do you need to reconcile with?
There may be no greater Father’s Day gift than reconciling with a loved one.

Jesus; help us to adopt a spirit of reconciliation. Show us who we need to reconcile with this day. Give us the heart and courage to genuinely ask for forgiveness and to begin the journey of healing and peace. We need You every step of the way and ask that You bless the other person and prepare their heart for this journey. In Jesus mighty name, amen.

ALPHA WARRIOR DEVOTIONAL17 June 2026

“Fitting In”

“Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,”. Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭19‬-‭21‬ ‭NKJV

As a Christian in today’s world it is easy to have the feeling that we just don’t fit in with the majority of other people.

Many of the things we used to do before our salvation are no longer appropriate or even desirable, and to just go to church and a meeting here or there doesn’t make us feel like we belong, sometimes.

Paul in Ephesians 2:19-21 is explaining that we are now part of a new family, the household of God.
If we don’t look or act just like those that aren’t, that’s a good thing. If there seems to be little difference in our lives and the ones who do not rely on Christ as their foundation, we should check ourselves.

“The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.” John‬ ‭15‬:‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We are now part of a much greater community, fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.
It doesn’t mean we have to be stoic and not do fun things, just redefining what fun is.
Community is key.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer… Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts… And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Acts 2:42-47

When is the last time you broke bread (had a meal) with another believer to get to know them better? When have you had genuine conversation with someone like-minded about life, current events, joy and life?

Isolation is one of the strongest tools of the enemy. We know it, but do we do anything about it?

We were not built to be Rambo, a one person fighting force; we were made to be a part of the Kings army, with our shields of faith protecting each other.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the day approaching”. Hebrews 10:24-25

Invite a believer in your community to breakfast, lunch, or have them over for dinner. You never know the friendships that will come. And we strengthen the body if believers in the process.
And join gatherings outside of church. Get out and live a little, and have life to the full!

ALPHA WARRIOR DEVOTIONAL16 June 2026

“What Do You Think?”

One of the series of questions Jesus asked is “What do you think?”

Jesus asked, “What do you think?” in four separate scenarios, recorded in the Book of Matthew.
Jesus individually asked Simon Peter, the disciples, the chief priests, and the Pharisees, what they thought of His teaching.
He used questions carefully. We see Jesus teaching, testing, rebuking, or praising throughout the Gospels. He also affirmed the Old Testament in His ministry.
God is kind and inclusive. He welcomes everyone into a relationship with Him, like a hospitable host welcoming guests to His party. He doesn’t force His beliefs upon us, as we see from Jesus’ question, but instead asks our hearts: “What do you think?” Or in other words, “Do you understand what I’m saying?”

“What do you think of partnering with Me in life?”

When Jesus asked these individuals what they thought, He provided them an opportunity to choose His teaching, His ways––choose Him.
He was lighting the way through the darkness of religious deeds, idolatry, and empty philosophies, much like His offer to us today.
We have the opportunity to choose Him first in all areas of our lives, today and every day.
May we reply to God’s call on our lives like Peter did in John 6:68-69: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, have come to know that You are the Holy One of God.”
What do you think your next step is in your faith journey?

“What do you think of partnering with Jesus in life?”

Jesus; I choose You. Over anything this world has to offer, I choose You.
You chose me before I was formed in my mother womb and today, I accept Your invitation to walk through life together. Thank You for asking me, “what do I think?” What I think, is, I’ll follow You!
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

ALPHA WARRIOR DEVOTIONAL15 June 2026

“The Most Famous Prayer”

We have all heard “The Lords Prayer”, maybe we have even repeated it, maybe hundreds of times.
This is not a prayer God wants to hear repeated to Himself in memorization, it is an example, a blueprint, of HOW we should pray.

“And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
“This, then, is how you should pray: “
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭7‬, ‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Think about it. What if your son or daughter called you and said the same thing every time they called, said it from memory, and then hung up.
Wouldn’t be very meaningful would it.

These are Jesus own words on HOW to speak to the Father; His Father, yours and mine.; ‘Our Father.’

Where is He?
HE is in Heaven, His home, where we will someday be with Him for eternity, IF we accept His Son as our Lord and Savior.

Holy is His name. God is Holy, just, all knowing, all seeing, spanning space and time in ways we can’t understand or comprehend. Yet, He calls us sons and daughters and longs for our worship and affection. (2 Corinthians 6:18, 1 John 3:1)

“your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬
His Kingdom is here, we are part of it as born again believers; but someday, soon, Heaven and earth will rejoice as one, as His Will is fulfilled and we live as one!

“Give us today our daily bread.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬
God provides for us today. Because time and space do not contain Him, His days are like a thousand years. (2 Peter 3:8), and the creator of the universe will lavish us with His provisions.

“And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬
We will be forgiven as we forgive. (Matthew 6:14). Forgive freely and be freely forgiven.

“And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
The word temptation in the Greek here actually means trials, or testing. Here Jesus is teaching us to ask the Father to protect us from the enemy’s temptations but also to spare us trials if it be His will. Because we know that trials produce perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. (Romans 5:3-5).
And through this we will be delivered from the evil one.

But most of all God’s is the kingdom, and the power, and the Glory that lasts forever, for eternity.
His desire is for us to spend this eternity with Him. The Father and His children, together.

“In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭9‬-‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

ALPHA WARRIOR DEVOTIONAL11 June 2026

“The Most Amazing News”

When I woke this morning, Holy Spirit put a song in my heart I haven’t heard for over 50 years.
“I’ve got, Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy, down in my heart; down in my heart, down in my heart.” And it repeats
We used to sing this in kids church in our little Baptist church. I couldn’t have been more than 8 or 9 years old.
This coming to my mind can only be Holy Spirit!

Galatians 5:22-23 —
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…”

Usually without realizing it, we have let God the Father take a back seat to God the Judge. As a result, we are left in a daily grind trying to appease God. The end of this road is either empty religious routine or abandonment of the Christian faith altogether. Both are a far cry from the revolutionary power of the gospel that Jesus unleashed on earth.

Religion focuses on external changes. The gospel focuses on the heart. With religion, we obey to get something from God. The gospel changes us so that we obey because we love God, because He so greatly loves us.
With religion, we change to earn the approval of God. In the gospel, we change because we have the approval of God.

“With religion, we change to earn the approval of God. In the gospel, we change because we have the approval of God.”

God doesn’t want more religious conformity; He wants our love. We have a tendency in religious circles to fill our lives to the brim with religious activities. For the most part, these activities in themselves are good, God-honoring pursuits. The reality, however, is that habitual Christianity may be the number-one killer of the joy-filled life Christ has offered us. A good question for us is, are we trying to earn God’s love and affection, or are we living in the joy of God’s love that’s been declared over us in the gospel?

Gospel-centered change is not about giving you a list of things you need to go and do for God but making you stand in awe of what He has done for you.

“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy…” (Psalm 16:11)

Jesus came to give us life to the full, (John 10:10) amazing bountiful joy and peace. That’s not found in constantly striving, that is found in constantly abiding.

Start today with a new look at the most amazing news. God created you in His image, and sent His Son to solidify that you can live with Him in His unlimited love for us, for eternity!

“I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy
Down in my heart (where?)
Down in my heart (where?)
Down in my heart
I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy
Down in my heart
Down in my heart to stay”

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
