“The Power of a Blessing”

God created with spoken words (Genesis 1). Our tongues carry the same creative weight: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21).
A blessing is not polite well-wishing. It is a Spirit-empowered declaration that invites God’s favor, protection, and purpose into a life.
The Lord Himself gave Israel the priestly pattern: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace” (Numbers 6:24-26). That blessing was not optional poetry; it was commanded so God’s name would rest on the people.
Isaac’s blessing over Jacob could not be taken back (Genesis 27). Jacob later spoke prophetic words over his twelve sons that shaped entire tribes (Genesis 49). Jesus took children in His arms and blessed them (Mark 10:16).
At the ascension Jesus lifted His hands and blessed the disciples (Luke 24:50-51). Paul opened nearly every letter with “grace and peace.” We are even told to bless those who curse us (Romans 12:14; 1 Peter 3:9).
Speak blessing on purpose. Pray the Aaronic words over your household each morning. Declare Ephesians 1:17-19 over those you lead—that they may know the hope of His calling and the riches of His inheritance. Bless children with identity and destiny. Bless coworkers with wisdom and favor. Bless even those who oppose you, releasing God’s goodness instead of retaliation.
A spoken blessing aligns heaven with earth. Open our mouths and hearts today and bless.

Father I pray over the reader of this devotional “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬-‭19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In JESUS’s powerful name. Amen!

“More Than Conquerors”

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭37‬-‭39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This scripture begins with the charge that we are more than conquerers. “More than”, means that we are conquerers; that being the base from which we are - ‘more than’.

Paul does not say we avoided the fight. He says we won it—and then some.
“These things” are not abstract. Verse 35 names them: trouble, hardship, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, and the sword. Earlier in the chapter he has already named condemnation, the groaning of creation, weakness, and death itself.
The Greek word behind “more than conquerors” is hypernikōmen—a rare, intensified form of “conquer.” It means to win overwhelmingly, to come out of the battle with surplus, not just survival. A conqueror leaves the enemy on the ground. A more-than-conqueror discovers that the very thing that tried to destroy him has been pressed into the service of God’s purpose.

We did not conquer these things by our grit. We conquer through Him who loved us. The verb “loved” is past tense. Paul points us back to the cross, where the decisive victory was already won. Christ absorbed the sword, the shame, the separation, and the grave. Because He loved us there, nothing that happens to us here can pry us out of His hand.
Verses 38–39 then sweep the entire battlefield.
Death cannot.
Life’s grinding pressure cannot. Angels or demons cannot.
Today’s crisis or tomorrow’s unknown cannot.
Spiritual powers, the highest height, the lowest depth—nothing created can separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The list is exhaustive on purpose. Paul is not hoping. He is convinced.
So live like a man or woman who already knows the outcome.
The trial is real.
The pain is real.
But the verdict is already in: you are not barely hanging on.
You are more than a conqueror. Stand your ground.
Fix your eyes on the One who loved you first. Nothing in all creation gets the last word.

He does.

In JESUS’s powerful name. Amen!

ALPHA WARRIOR DEVOTIONAL2 September 2026

”Playing Offense”

In just about every sport, there is offense and defense. One side, defense, defending the line and protecting against the opposition from moving forward; and the other side being offense, where the point is advancing the team’s objectives and scoring.

The New Testament does not picture the church as a fortress merely holding out until Jesus returns. It pictures a people who have already been given the victory of the cross and who now advance with that victory—proclaiming the gospel, tearing down lies, taking thoughts captive, interceding for the harvest, and using the Word as a sword. Defense is real (we stand), but Offense is commanded.

“And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:18–19
Gates are defensive. Jesus’ picture is that His church is moving toward the strongholds of death and darkness, and those gates will not hold. Gates only hold when they aren’t being attacked, with force and veracity.
Binding and loosing is active authority exercised in Jesus name.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3–5
This is not “Lord, keep the enemy off me.” It is tearing down fortified lies, demolishing arguments that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God, and taking captive the thought-life. That is offensive work in prayer and in daily obedience.

“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”Luke 10:19”
Many dismiss this as only intended for the twelve Disciples, but Jesus was speaking here to the 70 that He sent out, not just the twelve. And Jesus provides clarity in the context of the scriptures.

The seventy return and say, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” (Luke 10:17). Jesus answers that He saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven (v. 18), then immediately says He has given them authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (v. 19). He then tells them not to rejoice that the spirits are subject to them, but that their names are written in heaven (v. 20).
Serpents and scorpions sit in the middle of a conversation about Satan, demons, and “the enemy.” That is the controlling frame.
And as you see, Jesus tells them not to rejoice THAT THE SPIRITS ARE SUBJECT TO THEM; why? Because it is a God give authority that we should accept as part of who we are, not to be amazed when we utilize it.

Today walk in the power that Jesus described and has endowed you with. Throw off strongholds, stop living in a defensive and fearful position, just holding off the enemy. Charge the gates of hell from the position your Father placed you in,
they will not prevail.

“I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God. Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you.” Revelation 3:1-4

In JESUS’s powerful name. Amen!
