On Wednesday March 13th, Friendship Circle presented a program to educate our members about the work being done by the Project 66 Food Bank.

Our speakers were Jim Brungardt, produce manager and Roy Thomas, warehouse manager. They taught us about the challenges of procuring food and the joys of the Christ-based work that provides so much more than meals to our community.

As part of the program our members brought food donations totalling 280 pounds, which should provide 336 meals.

PLEASE JOIN US IN OUR LENTEN JOURNEY

The Grace of God

What peace and comfort these words evoke. This Lenten season our FUMCE UMW unit is embarking on a journey together to draw our hearts and minds nearer to the Grace of God.

We ask that you spend time each day during lent reflecting on this one thought - “The Grace of God”. During this time of reflection, we ask that you record words that connect YOU to the Grace of God. This could be a bible verse, a personal thought, a poem, a person’s name, even a line from a hymn.

We hope that as we participate in this exercise as individuals it will draw us nearer to each other as a group and also prepare us for the miracle of Easter and receiving the gift of God’s eternal Grace through our salvation.

If you attended our meeting last Wednesday you received a ring of small note cards on which to record these words. If you didn’t attend please join us in this exercise anyway with just a piece of paper or a journal.

If you would like to receive a ring of blank notecards, please let your circle chair know. It is our hope that if we preserve these 40 thoughts we can revisit them for comfort in the future or even pass them on to someone else for their comfort.
