If you’ve ever strained to catch a sermon punchline, missed a lyric in worship, or lost the fitness instructor’s cue over the music, that changes now. We’ve switched on direct‑to‑ear audio—live sound sent straight from our microphones and mixers to your ears. It’s clearer, more personal, and easy to use.
What is direct‑to‑ear audio?
It’s a wireless broadcast of our live sound that you receive on your own device—hearing aids, earbuds or headphones —so you hear with studio‑quality clarity, wherever you sit or move.
Today, 1 in 3 people over 65 experience hearing loss, driving a growing demand for assistive listening solutions (WHO). This need is especially true for people with hearing loss in reverberant worship spaces, where the acoustics may enhance music but make speech difficult to understand, especially for older attendees.
Direct-to-ear audio (e.g., from an audio source to a hearing aid or earbud) has been shown to be the most effective way to improve engagement and the overall experience for those having difficulty understanding speech. It helps individuals focus on what matters most: the message.
Recent Bluetooth® innovations, such as Bluetooth® LE Audio and Auracast™ broadcast audio, have brought significant enhancements to the assistive listening space. With Auracast™ broadcast audio, Bluetooth® devices can now broadcast audio to an unlimited number of in-range devices in private and public spaces, enabling greater accessibility, improved audio quality, and new user experiences.
Auracast™ transmitters are now installed at the Edisto Beach Civic Center and are broadcasting direct-to-ear audio for the Sunday worship services of Redeemer Fellowship of Edisto Island as well as the exercise classes offered through Body & Soul Fitness® and Silver Sneakers®.
