With the onset of the 21st century, while the Muslim Ummah found itself faced with unprecedented global challenges. the real crisis was steady decline of the Muslim intellectual thought and spiritual state. In these circumstances, in 2003 with the advice, blessings and patronage of Akabir Mashaikh of Ahl e Sunnah wal Jama’a, zainab center was formed by Shaykh Ahmad Arshad and his wife Shaykha Aali
mah Humera Ahmad. It was the first organization of its kind that focused exclusively on the revival of Islamic education, spiritual growth and development of Muslim sisters in an online virtual setting. It was a modern approach to classical traditional Islamic scholarship and spirituality. Our vision is to go from Ilm to Amal, from Amal to Ikhlas and from Ikhlas to a state of Ihsaan. What initially started as one teacher teaching one student over the phone, 18 years later, thousands have benefited from the programming offered by Zainab Center across North America (most states in the USA and Canada), Europe, Middle East, Africa, South Asia and Australia. The quality education and upbringing brought to the lives of our students has been recognized by scholars from around the world. Apart from training in the complete classical Aalimah program with its various sciences as well as established spiritual paths, Zainab Center offers seminars and workshops on finding harmony in marital lives, raising Allah conscious children, establishing and developing Islamic Communities, youth issues and many other relevant topics of the time. Each year the Quranic Tafseer in Ramadan by Shaykha Humera Ahmad is attended by thousands around the world. In the last few years, our focus has increased on creating circles of learning and remembrance in various communities. Towards that goal, we have started opening branches of Zainab Center International around the world.
