Our FUPC leaders have determined that it is safe now for the sanctuary to reopen for Sunday morning worship! We will begin indoors Sundays at 10:00 a.m. ---- importantly ---- for those who are safe to gather inside, and those who feel comfortable attending this form of gathered worship.

For everyone (whether you do or don't come to 4281 Route 6N), there will continue to be a video worship experience posted each weekend on EdinboroPresby.org

First and foremost: For people who can come out (and choose to), this is exciting and much-anticipated news.

That said, the guidelines for sanctuary worship are familiar to you from many other public activities at retailers, medical offices and workplaces:
1. If you have any fever or other symptoms -- or have been around others who have -- please take the week off.
2. If you've traveled beyond the immediate region, allow multiple days before you resume local activities.
3. If you are concerned, worried or carry too many uncertainties in your own mind -- or if you are in a higher risk category -- choose the online video instead. (If you will be distracted with quarantine and safety usurping your worshipful mood, use your own good judgment about when and how to reenter sanctuary services.)
4. Except for small children and and anyone with valid physical or emotional health reasons not to, please where a proper face covering inside the building --- and when you are near other people outside.
5. Chairs have been appropriately distanced. Leave 6+ feet ( that is 3 chair widths) between you and anyone not from your household.
6. The worship service will be shortened, and elements such as passing offering plates and handshakes/hugs will not happen until later. The format will begin with just the basics like we have used in outdoor worship during the past two months. We will offer a Time For Younger Worshipers (remaining seated with their families, but no official child care will be offered in these first few weeks.
7. As future weeks arrive, we will adapt, see what works best, and adjust to whatever the appropriate health and safety guidance requires us to do.
8. Park near the front or along the Garden of Edin side. Only the front door and the east door will be open. (The doors at the kitchen, the fellowship hall and the west entry will remain locked.) Only the sanctuary, the entryways and the restrooms will be available -- the rest of the building should stay off limits. In order to keep the sanctuary clean and open for Sunday mornings, the entire building is closed the other 6.5 days every week.
9. Our ushers will help to assist and guide you, direct you to hand sanitizers and additional masks, and answer any questions. Our facilities crew, church staff, ordained leaders and ushering team have worked hard and well to add this option to our weekend schedule.

Again, if you have any qualms -- or if it's not quite time for you to get back to the sanctuary, please look for our video version of worship. The new presentation is posted early each Sunday morning on the VIDEOS page of our website.
