A new LADIES BIBLE STUDY is starting up this September!

Ladies, come join us as we study “The Beatitudes, Developing Spiritual Character,” by John Stott. During this 9-week study, we will delve into Christ’s own words to His disciples as He “highlighted these (characteristics) to offer both encouragement and instruction on living distinctly as HIs followers in a world with values much different from God’s.”

Our missions focus for August is Young Life Federal Way. Young Life is a Christian ministry that reaches out to middle school, high school, and college students in all 50 of the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.

Young Life began in the early 1940s in response to an emerging adolescent subculture, the center of which was the world of the high school. Young Life is in the world of high school—learning kids’ names, hearing their stories, having fun and sharing with them the great news of a God who loves them.

A little bit more about their mission (from their website):

“Our Mission is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. We accomplish our mission by:

• Praying for young people.

• Going where kids are and building personal relationships with them.

• Earning the right to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

• Providing fun, adventurous, life-changing and skill-building experiences.

• Inviting kids to personally respond to the Good News and walking in friendship with them regardless of their response.

• Working in community alongside like-minded adults (volunteer leaders, committee members, donors and staff).”

VBS Volunteer Spotlight…

The dust has settled from our VBS Illumination Station, but here are a few reminders of all that went on and the fun that was had. Our registration peaked at 88 students and it’s wonderful to think of that many children learning more about Jesus! Praise God!
