6-16-26 - Day 23 — Acknowledge National Sin

Founding Witness: The Declaration appeals to a moral order grounded in the Creator. National repentance begins when a people admit that freedom cannot be sustained while truth, justice, and reverence for God are cast aside.

Scripture: Daniel 9:4–5 I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed: “Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, 5 we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws.

Focus: Confess the nation’s moral rebellion before God, naming both public and private sins while trusting in His covenant mercy to forgive and renew.

Prayer Prompt: O Lord, great and merciful God, we confess the sins of this land—falsehood, injustice, greed, violence, prejudice, and contempt for neighbor. Forgive us, cleanse us, and turn our hearts again toward Your truth and holy commandments.

6-15-26 - Day 22 — Give Thanks for God’s Mercies
Founding Witness: The founding documents repeatedly use the language of providence, blessing, and accountability before God. Thanksgiving keeps a people from imagining that their story was built by human power alone.
Scripture: Psalm 100:4–5 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Focus: Enter God’s presence with gratitude, remembering that thanksgiving is a means of grace that enlarges trust, deepens humility, and steadies hope.
Prayer Prompt: Gracious God, we thank You for mercies seen and unseen, for patience we did not deserve, and for kindness that has not failed. Teach us to praise You with thankful hearts, and let gratitude renew our prayers for this nation.

6/14/26 - Day 21 — Guard Against Forgetfulness

Founding Witness: Samuel Adams warned that liberty and happiness cannot be secured where public character is corrupt. A nation in times of comfort must still guard its heart lest blessing become the seedbed of spiritual amnesia.

Scripture: Deuteronomy 8:11–14. Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day. 12 Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, 13 and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, 14 then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

Focus: Beware the spiritual drift that comes with comfort and success, and pray for hearts that remain humble, obedient, and dependent upon God’s grace.

Prayer Prompt: Father, forgive us when abundance has made us self-satisfied and forgetful of Your goodness. Keep our hearts low before You, and preserve us from the pride that mistakes blessing for self-sufficiency.

6/13/26 - Day 20 — Remember His Hand in Our History

Founding Witness: The Declaration closes with “a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence.” Remembering history rightly means giving thanks not merely for national achievement, but for the guiding mercy of God.

Scripture: Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.

Focus: Give thanks for the providence, mercy, and restraint of God in the nation’s history, while remembering that every blessing calls forth humility and gratitude.

Prayer Prompt: Lord, we thank You for every sign of mercy You have shown through the generations. Keep us from shallow patriotism or forgetfulness, and teach us to remember Your providence with gratitude, humility, and renewed obedience.

Founding Witness: The Declaration closes with “a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence.” Remembering history rightly means giving thanks not merely for national achievement, but for the guiding mercy of God.

6/12/2026 - Day 19 — Believe for Spiritual Revival

Founding Witness: The transatlantic revivals associated with George Whitefield stirred hearts across the colonies and shaped a wider spiritual imagination in early America. Revival is God’s work, yet history reminds us that whole societies can be deeply moved when the Spirit awakens a people.

Scripture: Acts 4:24, 31. 24 When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them… 31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.

Focus: Pray for a fresh awakening of the Holy Spirit that gives boldness to the church, convicts hearts, and renews the witness of the gospel across the nation.

Prayer Prompt: Spirit of the living God, shake what has grown cold, complacent, and fearful within us. Fill Your people with holy boldness, awaken the lost, and breathe revival into this land for the glory of Christ.

6/11/2026 - Day 18 — Stand in the Gap

Founding Witness: Public liberty depends in part on citizens willing to bear responsibility beyond themselves. Intercessors stand in that spirit, carrying the needs of others before God rather than retreating into private concern alone.

Scripture: Ezekiel 22:30 “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.

Focus: Accept the calling to intercede faithfully for family, church, community, and nation, standing before God on behalf of the land in a spirit of holy love.

Prayer Prompt: Here I am, Lord; place me where You will and make me faithful in prayer. Help me stand in the gap with perseverance, compassion, and courage for my family, my city, and this nation.

6/10/2026 - Day 17 — Discern the Father’s Will

Founding Witness: The Constitution’s preamble reflects ordered purposes—justice, tranquility, common defense, general welfare, and liberty. Discernment in prayer seeks not private gain first, but what accords with the larger good under God.

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 2:10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

Focus: Ask the Spirit to search the deep things of God and lead your prayers according to the Father’s will for repentance, awakening, justice, and holy love.

Prayer Prompt: Father, save me from praying only my preferences and fears. By Your Spirit, reveal what You desire to do in this nation, and teach me to pray with obedient trust for what serves Your kingdom.

6/9/2026 - Day 16 — Partner with the Intercessor

Founding Witness: The Declaration grounds human dignity in the Creator rather than in any earthly ruler. Christian prayer begins one step further still, confessing that the risen Christ now reigns and intercedes above every nation.

Scripture: Hebrews 7:25. 25 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Focus: Remember that Jesus Christ lives forever to intercede, and let your prayers be joined to His saving work for the church, the nation, and the world.

Prayer Prompt: Lord Jesus Christ, great High Priest, gather my weak prayers into Your perfect intercession. Save to the uttermost, draw many to repentance and new life, and let this nation be touched by Your redeeming mercy.
