An empty tabernacle awaits the Easter Vigil. In The Episcopal Church the reserved sacrament is removed from the tabernacle or ambry where it is normally kept during the stripping of the altar at the close of the Maundy Thursday liturgy. There is no consecration of new elements from then until the Vigil on Saturday evening.
