Day 8 South Dakota Mission Trip - a travel day, left early in the morning, lost an hour with the time change, and only made brief stops. And we are home! It was a fantastic trip with an amazing group of youth and leaders! We can’t wait to share our stories with you! (After a looonnggg nap)!

Day 7 South Dakota Mission Trip - sightseeing day! Custer State Park in the Black Hills and we saw Bison! Afternoon at Mount Rushmore. Ended the day with dinner and and alpine slide! Such a great day! Also a shout out to our amazing leaders - Morgan, Tiffany, Lindsey, Heather, Casey, and Jennifer - these leaders still have smiles after a week with a bunch of teenagers, sleeping on air mattresses, and getting no time to themselves. They make this experience possible for these students, and we are so grateful to them!

Day 6 South Dakota Mission Trip - another project packed day! More roofing and construction work on a tiny house, making and delivering meals, and helping at the day camp. Last day of work, it has been so great to see the progress of what our youth have accomplished this week. We will also miss the people that have welcomed us into their community. We also gifted all of the quilts sent with us by the Krazy Quilters.

Day 5 South Dakota Mission Trip - another full day! Started with this awesome kid on her 16th birthday, so incredible that she gave up her birthday to be here helping others, but we made sure to make her feel special. Then the wind here made some of our projects impossible - there is no safe way to work on a roof in 40-50 mph winds. So we adjusted and that crew got to hand deliver one of the quilts made by our Krazy Quilters and helped with projects that kept them on the ground. Other crews helped with cleaning, making more meals to be delivered, unloading panels for the tiny houses another volunteer group is helping build. As well as helping at the day camp! Each evening we gather together for worship and share our Yay God moments. We also have lots of fun playing cards during our down time.

Day 4 South Dakota Mission Trip - a busy day! More roof work, gardening, a big project of blowing up 60 air mattresses to test them out, deliveries meals around the community, day camp, helping clean at the Y, ended the evening with a community cookout serving so much food that we ran out multiple times, and many of us had our nails painted by the little kids at the cookout.

Day 3 - South Dakota Mission Trip - work day! We have 3 crews 1- this is our construction crew they are helping with fixing a porch and a roof. 2- helping with gardening and cleaning at the Youth Center, which has an amazing community garden that supports those in the community. 3- helping at the Y with making 150 meals and then spending the afternoon with the day camp kids.

Day 2 South Dakota Mission Trip -travel day - went to the Badlands and it was so beautiful! The students loved hiking and climbing through it. We even saw Bison! Then a stop at the world famous Wall Drug, it even has 5 cent coffee!

South Dakota Mission Trip Day 1 travels - lots of driving but also stopped to check out the Spam Museum, Sioux Falls Park and waterfalls, and ended the evening with a visit to the beautiful statue Dignity of Earth and Sky. And a thank you to Trinity Lutheran in Chamberlain for letting us stay overnight.

South Dakota Mission Trip Day 1 - and they are off! This wonderful group of 20 is headed to the Cheyenne River Reservation to work alongside local organizations. Our prayers go with them. And they will definitely be known wherever they go with those vans!

Barnyard VBS day 4 - special visit with chickens and rabbits! Big thanks to the Ferrell family for sharing their animals with us. Indoor games and lots of fun! Can’t believe VBS is already over. Had a great time with awesome kiddos and helpers!
