Today we honor all the fathers and father figures and send a special prayer for those we have lost - Saint Joseph be their guide light. We also pray for those who long to be fathers and especially for those who have felt the pain of loss.

Amid the many hardships we are enduring, let us never forget that we have been healed by the wounds of Christ. In the light of the Risen Lord, our sufferings are now transfigured. Where there was death, now there is life. Where there was mourning, now there is consolation.

Almighty God, today we ask for Your blessing and protective hands upon our veterans. For those men and women who serve to protect us, for those that are preparing to answer the call to serve, and for those who have given of themselves and placed our needs above their own we pray that You may continue to watch over them in foreign lands and here at home. These men and women stand together to defend our families against the evils of the world and today we stand together to say Thank You!
