Wheels on Fire for Christ
Our name is founded upon the divine revelation of Daniel 7:9, which depicts Father God's throne as having wheels of fire, symbolizing His dynamic movement, power, and active intercession on our behalf. We are guided by the spirit of Luke 24:31-32, seeking that profound passion that ignites within us when the Lord's presence is revealed, and our hearts burn with fervent devotion to Him.
Through Wheels on Fire for Christ Ministry, Inc. (WOFFCM), we strive to bridge the gap between the Church and the disability community. Our primary objective is to disseminate the imperative of establishing a personal relationship with Lord Jesus Christ, proclaiming salvation as the sole path to reconciliation with God (John 3:16-17, Romans 10:9-10).
Empowered by the courage of Joshua 1:9 and the Holy Spirit's power (Romans 8:11, Luke 3:16), we persevere, driven by the inescapable urgency of Jeremiah 20:9, where God's word burns within us like a fire. We teach that through Christ's empowerment, we can accomplish all things (Philippians 4:13), and even a small measure of faith can move mountains (Matthew 17:20).
Statement of Faith
As a non-denominational, fundamentally sound ministry fully based upon the Word of God, our foundational beliefs rest firmly upon these uncompromised truths:
Creation & Humanity: God created the earth, as well as Adam and Eve, who mark the beginning of the human race (Genesis 1:1, 1:26-28).
The Holy Trinity: We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).
The Scripture: The Bible is the absolute true word of God, entirely God-breathed and God-inspired (2 Timothy 3:16).
Jesus Christ & Salvation: We believe in the Virgin Birth, life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Salvation through Jesus Christ is the sole way to Heaven (John 14:6).
Baptism: We recognize baptism as a vital outward profession of faith following salvation, though it is not a prerequisite for entering Heaven (Matthew 3:13-15).
Marriage: We believe biblical marriage is designated by God to be a sacred covenant exclusively between a man and a woman.
Universal Accessibility: Worship and all church functions must be made fully accessible across architectural, musical, recreational, and instructional environments to welcome all people in mind, body, and soul (Mark 2:1-5, Luke 5:17-20).
Disability & Divine Purpose: God is not the author of disability, nor do disabilities occur due to personal or parental sin. When a disability is present, God will dynamically use the circumstance for His ultimate glory (John 9:1-3).
The Scriptural Blueprint for Barrier-Free Access
The Word of God gives us a powerful blueprint for what true, barrier-free access should look like in the house of the Lord:
Breaking Physical Barriers (Mark 2:3-5): We see the ultimate example of doing whatever it takes to break down a physical barrier. When a paralyzed man could not reach Jesus due to the crowds, his friends literally tore apart and removed the roof to lower his mat down. Our churches must have that same relentless drive to clear the way for people to reach Christ.
An Intentional Invitation (Luke 14:21-23): Jesus commands us to actively pursue and welcome the disability community, telling His servants: "Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame... search the hedgerows and highways and insist they come in, so that the house will be full." Accessibility means making sure there is room at the table.
Revealing God's Glory (John 9:1-5): When the disciples asked who sinned to cause a man's blindness, Jesus corrected them directly: "It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins... This happened so the power of God could be seen in him." We hold the conviction that although God permits disability, He is not its author; instead, He dynamically utilizes these circumstances to reveal and glorify His works through our lives.
Breaking Down Walls (John 4:1-42 & Ephesians 2:14): Christ consistently crossed social, cultural, and religious divides to reach the marginalized, breaking down the walls of hostility to create absolute unity among us.
Our Roots: The 2002 Original Founding Mission
When Wheels on Fire for Christ was incorporated in 2002, God laid a foundational five-part purpose upon the heart of the founder Scott Broadway. This core legacy continues to drive our vision today:
1. The Main Purpose (The Great Commission): Established as a motivational speaking, youth outreach, and advocacy ministry to fulfill Matthew 28:16-20 and Mark 16:15-18. Through speaking engagements at churches, youth groups, and hospitals, we share the message of salvation, encouraging people to get "on fire" for the Lord and showing individuals that they have a great purpose in life through Jesus Christ.
2. "Ignite the Flame" Youth Outreach: Designed to reignite a passion for God in youth and churches (Psalm 39:3, Luke 3:16). It teaches young people that they are never too young to serve (1 Timothy 4:12), encouraging them to look past life's hurdles, lean on Christ’s strength (Philippians 4:13), and claim victory over enemy strongholds (Romans 16:20).
3. Wheels on Fire for Martial Arts: A specialized program offering Christian-based self-defense and martial arts training for youth, women, and individuals with disabilities. Operating under a Dojo Kun (Code of Conduct) rooted in Christian principles, it builds self-esteem and character while acting as a form of physical therapy tailored to individual medical needs.
4. Wheels on Fire for ADA (Disability Advocacy): Focused on promoting absolute equality inside the church based on Ephesians 2:14, while actively fighting for civil rights outside the church. This division works with local, state, and national agencies to enforce the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), advocating for universal structural/intellectual design and equal rights across all backgrounds.
5. FIREhouse 51 (Women's Ministry): Led by Erin Broadway and founded on Galatians 5:1, this ministry helps broken and hurting women "stand fast" in spiritual freedom. It utilizes the P.R.E.A.C.H. method (Pray, Read, Endure, Armor up, Chat, and Heal) to rebuild the emotional, mental, and spiritual health of women so they can enjoy victory in Jesus.
