We are thrilled to introduce Wrigley to the family! As a certified therapy dog, Wrigley has a special mission this summer: helping out with VBC and Adaptive VBC. Whether a child needs a calming presence, a sensory break, or just a furry friend to sit with, Wrigley is ready to serve.

He made his big debut during children’s time on Sunday and the kids immediately showered him with love (and plenty of hugs!).

We are so grateful for new ways to make our programs accessible, gentle, and filled with joy for every child. Keep an eye out for Wrigley around campus!

“Love your neighbor. Challenge injustice. Practice hospitality.” 🕊️✨

These aren’t just catchy phrases—they are the heartbeat of our ministry at EPUMC.

This Pride Month, we want to be incredibly clear: our faith compels us to stand in radical solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. At a time when fear and misinformation are frequently used to divide, we choose to anchor ourselves in a love that breaks down walls.

Whether you are celebrating out loud or looking for a quiet, safe space to just breathe and be yourself, our doors and hearts are open to you. You belong here.

This Sunday, we reach the powerful conclusion of our series inspired by Living the Questions’ Painting the Stars: Science, Religion, and Evolving Faith. In our final service, "Gratitude for Many and Imagining our Future," we reflect on what it means to live with an evolutionary spirit—engaging fully in the present while remaining completely open to where the Holy Spirit is leading us next. Together, we look toward a future rooted in compassion, diversity, and hope.

Service Highlights
Message: "Gratitude for Many and Imagining our Future" by Pastor Linda McCullough.
Scripture: Genesis 1:26-27, Colossians 1:15, and Romans 8:29 (CEB).
Special Moments: A special Children's Message featuring the Blessing of Wrigley, alongside dedicated Prayers for Carnegie Travelers.
Special Music: "Joy in the House!" (Arr. Mary McDonald) and "Child of God" (Mark Miller), performed by the Praise Ensemble. Centering Readings: Reflections from Erich Jantsch, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and LJ McCullough.

Jesus is far too big, far too radical, and far too loving to be confined by any single border, flag, or nation.

As an inclusive, reconciling congregation, our allegiance is to a Gospel of radical love, justice, and collective care—not to political lines on a map. Jesus didn’t call us to protect an empire; He called us to love our neighbors, break down walls, and protect the vulnerable, especially our LGBTQ+ siblings and trans youth.

When faith gets tied to national identity, it inevitably starts excluding people. We choose a different way. A way of radical hospitality where everyone belongs, exactly as they were created.

If you zoom in, you’ll find what’s actually inside: a community where hope lives out loud. 🌈✨

As an inclusive, reconciling congregation, we believe that visibility is holy. In a world that often tries to push LGBTQ+ people—and especially transgender youth—into the shadows, we choose to step boldly into the light.

We aren’t just a dot on a map. We are a sanctuary of radical belonging, protection, and deep, unconditional love. No matter who you are, who you love, or where you are on your journey, you are safe and celebrated here.

Hi!

Looking back — and looking ahead at Onward 💚

This week, Tricia Wright, Crystal Madison, and Kim Rathjen reflected on the early conversations that led to the creation of Onward House — and the ways the program continues to grow today.

Kim was one of Onward’s founders and first board president, and Crystal serves as Onward’s current program manager. Tricia is Onward's current executive director.

More than 10 years ago, community members in Eden Prairie recognized an unmet need: local young adults experiencing homelessness or housing instability had very few housing options or support services available to them.

Churches, nonprofits, schools, city leaders, and community members came together and asked: “What can we do to help?”

Those conversations eventually led to the creation of Onward.

Today, Onward continues helping young adults build stable lives and move toward independence through housing, support, relationships, and aftercare.

One line from the conversation stood out:
“At Onward, moving out is not the end of the relationship.”

“Hope will never be silent.” 📣✨

Today we honor Harvey Milk, whose legacy reminds us that refusing to disappear is a powerful form of grace.

As an inclusive, reconciling congregation, we know that visibility is holy. When the world tries to push LGBTQ+ people, and especially transgender youth, back into the shadows of fear and misinformation, our faith calls us to step into the light.

Harvey Milk’s message remains incredibly urgent. We don’t just stand for inclusion; we stand for radical belonging, affirmation, and protection. We refuse to be silent in the face of injustice, because we know that God’s love is much bigger than fear.

Today, we stand with advocates and allies everywhere to honor the barriers broken and the futures we are still building together. You are safe here. You are celebrated here. You are loved here.
