Some great Quarantine ideas for younger children! Shared from Jen Krick Bischoff :

"Parents with younger kids - here is my contribution to the ā€˜what to do with your kids at home’ conversation.

When my kids were younger, I used to give them old point and shoot cameras (but now, iPads or iPhones are perfect for this!). Then I would give them a list of prompts - something small, something blue, something textured - and send them on a photo safari. They loved it and I got some ā€˜free time’.

Kids also love timed activities - you should see how fast preschoolers clean up when I am counting down from 10 versus without - so time that chore you want them to do. ā€œLet’s see if you can put away all these Legos before I get to 20ā€. Even better, set up your phone to record a time-lapse video of them cleaning up a room. They love seeing themselves work super fast!

My last suggestion is an easy one. I take a piece of paper and draw a random squiggly line on it. Then I hand it over and tell them to think about what it looks like and draw a picture around it. It’s fun to see how their imagination works with this.

Now, if someone could just give me good ideas for teenagers.... 😬"
