May’s 55+ met recently with 36 in attendance. A picnic style luncheon was served along with strawberry pretzel salad for dessert. A big thank you to all who donated and prepared food.
Jerry Fisher, a local Vietnam era veteran gave a presentation on the history behind the memorial monument located on the end of the Veterans Bridge in Bridgewater. He also talked about Beaver County’s first WWII soldier that was KIA at Pearl Harbor and also mentioned current memorial events going on in the county.
55+ will donate a flag that will be displayed during July at the memorials in Beaver.
Our flag will be in memory of SSGT Andy Fritsch, from New Sewickley. He was deployed for only 3 months when he was KIA in Vietnam at a young age of 21.
55+ will take a summer break, see you all in September!
