The word “father” has always been a strong one in my heart and in my faith.
When I think of fathers, I think of the men who taught us to pray, encouraged us when life was hard, showed us grace when we stumbled, and quietly lived out their faith for others to see.
On this Father’s Day, we celebrate fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, adoptive fathers, godfathers, and the many father figures who have helped shape our lives. We also hold close those who are remembering a father, missing a father, or carrying Father’s Day in a different way this year.
For nearly 140 years, the doors of Prospect United Methodist Church have welcomed generations of families. Within these walls, fathers have carried babies to the baptismal font, sat beside their children in the pews, shared wisdom over fellowship meals, and passed down a legacy of faith that continues today.
As we give thanks for the fathers and father figures who have influenced our lives, we are reminded of the love of our Heavenly Father—the One who guides, strengthens, and remains faithful through every season.
Join us tomorrow morning at 9:15 as we gather in worship, celebrate the fathers and father figures among us, and give thanks to God for His enduring love.
“As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.”
— Psalm 103:13
Following worship, please stay and join us for fellowship and Bible study. All are welcome.
