CLC Youth Camp

CLC Youth Camp Camp is a foundation in Christ. It is the perfect opportunity for the kids to build relationships with others who share the same faith.

The opportunity to build these relationships is truly a blessing throughout their whole lives.

The rest of Tuesday was followed by some nice, relaxing FOB time (feet on bed) where campers got to rest. After that, we worked on our skits some more, and ate dinner! After dinner was music, and we got to sing for an hour! We then had our favorite nightly activity, huge ball! Huge ball is a variation of dodge ball but we roll in some huge zorb balls! This game is a camper and counselor favorite. Following huge ball was a nightly snack, devotion, discussion for Varsity (8th and 9th grade), and bed time!

Wednesday was a very rainy day but we made the absolute most of it! Calisthenics were in the gym so we could stay dry. We ate a delicious breakfast of biscuits and gravy, which was followed by morning chapel and Bible classes. The rainy day activities were so fun! We did indoor soccer, chilling with Vivaldi (glorified nap time), card games, and a fun soda tasting! After lunch was UTC, where campers had to build towers out of dry spaghetti and mini marshmallows. The teams then had to try to knock over each other’s towers with tennis balls! After UTC was ‘Activity 3’, which was a surprise for the campers. The whole camp went to Action City: an arcade in Eau Claire! Everyone had a blast there! Then, the night was nice and relaxing from there. We had supper, sang praises in music, where campers learned a fun new song, and had time to work on skits again! The nightly activity was a movie, where all the campers and counselors watched The Emperor’s New Groove and had popcorn. Counselor Andy lead us in devotion, followed by discussion groups for Varsity kiddos. Then off to bed!

Thursday started off gloomy but we ended with sunshine! We had our usual calisthenics and breakfast, followed by opening devotion done by Pastor Sippert! After that were Bible classes where we discussed how Jesus defeated sin, death, and the devil so we could go to Heaven! Activities for today consisted of: trivia, just dance, 9-square, chalk art, and many others! After lunch, we had a very creative UTC. For Hungry Hungry Hippos, the campers had to slide out on rollers to the middle of the empty parking lot to retrieve balls and pull them back to their stations! This was such a fun activity for everyone! We then went and spent some time at Fairfax pool! Afterwards, we all worshiped the Lord together at our Vesper service. We then had dinner, music, and time to work on skits again! Our nightly activity was our spin on America’s Got Talent. We named it CGT (Camper’s Got Talent. Campers competed against one another in their UTC teams for points!

Hey Parents! So sorry for the late post… we’ve been so busy having fun!

Sunday night started with some super fun icebreakers and a flash mob to Cotton-Eyed Joe. We had some ice cream sandwiches outside and played some yard games.

Monday started out with some calisthenics to get our bodies movin’! Some activities on Monday were line dancing, Disney trivia, sketching, field games, 9-square, and other fun activities. After a yummy lunch, we all competed in a high-stakes capture-the-flag game for UTC (Ultimate Team Competition). Followed by pool time at Fairfax. We had dinner, and then were blessed with time to worship Jesus in song. Next, the kiddos put on their thinking caps to come up with some fun skits! The criteria are: songs based off of a decade, lip-syncing, and a counselor is in the skit! After skits, we played our annual camp game, Bunko! Next were nightly devotions, discussion groups for the 8th and 9th graders, and bed time!

Tuesday started out as a rainy morning, but we made the most of it! We exercised for calisthenics, had a delicious breakfast prepared for us by our beloved cooks, and did some morning activities. Today, the activity options were: karaoke, yoga, 9-square, sand volleyball, and a Neature Walk with Illinois Jones. We had lunch, and had a super fun UTC today where campers were challenged to climb UP a slip and slide! Stay tuned for pictures and more blog posts soon!
