This Sunday in our series "Right Side Up," we'll look at Matthew 5:21–26. This section begins Jesus' use of the recurring phrase, "You have heard that it was said, but I say to you." It is important to note that Jesus is not critiquing the Old Testament Word through this phrase but rather the Pharisees' interpretation of it. Jesus' goal through this passage is to reveal the "heart" of the law. We are also reminded that God sees the heart. Our "outward acts of righteousness" do not have much value when we are harboring sin on the inside. You are encouraged to read and reflect on this passage prior to Sunday's message.

Contemporary Service - 10:30 am

In our current sermon series Right Side Up, we'll return to Jesus' Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5, where Jesus builds on the Beatitudes, expounds on the law, and continues to challenge our human perspectives.

This weekend we'll look at Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:17–20. This passage reveals that the new covenant of Jesus fulfills the expectations of the first covenant law. Jesus never treats the law like it’s optional now. God’s law is reliable and trustworthy and life-giving. You may wish to read and reflect on this passage prior to Sunday's message.

In our new series Right Side Up, we'll return to Jesus' Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5, where Jesus builds on the Beatitudes, expounds on the law, and continues to challenge our human perspectives. As we explore this foundational instruction together, we'll learn from Jesus to reorient our perspectives and priorities as people who belong with Jesus in His Kingdom, even as we live among our neighbors in this broken world.
