The Vision:
Love God. The Mission of Eau Claire Wesleyan Church:
Eau Claire Wesleyan Church exists to navigate

life together in knowing God, representing Him well through loving relationships and relevant conversations that encourage people - whether skeptic, seeking, or already in relationship with Jesus - into becoming devoted, Spirit-filled followers of Jesus Christ. What We Value:
Prayer – everything we do begins or is preceded by prayer, sustained through prayer and empowered through prayer; communication with God seeking His face, His will, His plans. (Luke 18:1, Luke 21:36a, Luke 22:40, Romans 8:26, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, 2 Chronicles 7:14)

Word of God – we believe the Bible is the infallible word of God, inerrant in the original writings and is our standard for faith and practice. As such it is to be communicated in relevant form, informing our entire lives, governing our relationship with God and others. (Romans 10:17, Mark 4:13-20, John 8:31, Acts 4:31, Hebrews 4:12, James 1:22-25)

Worship – we are called to worship God daily in our individual lives and also to express that worship consistently and corporately in the weekly Sunday gathering. Our corporate expressions of worship are to be relevant and engaging to our present day culture as to communicate to the un-churched of our community. (Romans 12:1-2, Psalm 86:9, 95:6, 96:1, John 4:24)

Community – in a world characterized by individualism and isolation, we are called to community. We need to offer and be involved in life-giving relationships to support one another in sharing, prayer, Bible study and fellowship. Life change happens in relationship through small groups. It happens best through intergenerational interaction. (Acts 2:46, Colossians 3:12-17, Hebrews 10:24-25,

Serving – all are called to discover and exercise their spiritual gifts for the good of the Body, reaching the spiritually seeking and give glory to God. This is an absolute necessity if we are to be the New Testament Church which is “the priesthood of all believers,” everyone given the “manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” (1 Corinthians 12, Romans 12:3-8)

Mission – our mission from Jesus is “to make disciples of all people.” This mission includes engaging people where they are spiritually, (Engel’s Scale) and wherever they are geographically (locally and globally). We are to build relationships with spiritually seeking people who do not yet know Jesus, share our faith in a relevant fashion, lead them to faith and assist them in maturing in their faith. (Matthew 28:18-20)

Loyalty to the absent – as followers of Jesus Christ, living his mandate first to love God, then to love others as ourselves, we express that love by refraining from gossip, pledging to speak to others directly, speak well of, or not speak at all. We will stop gossip at both our own mouth and own ears, by calling others into account to stop. (James 3:1-12)

Waiting is hard. But what if waiting well is one of the most powerful things you can do?

This Sunday at Eau Claire Wesleyan Church, we’re diving into Acts 1 — and what we find there just might change the way you see every season of uncertainty in your life.

📖 “Between the Promise and the Power: Waiting Well”

Acts 1:1–11

The disciples had every reason to move. Jesus told them to stay. What happened next changed the world.

✅ What does it mean to wait obediently?

✅ Why does God call us to wait before He releases His power?

✅ What does waiting well actually look like?

We’ll unpack all of it this Sunday.

See you there! 🙌

Dear Friends,

It has come to my attention that someone is posing as me via text message. They are using my name to create a sense of urgency, asking for "favors" or requesting you to purchase gift cards for people in need.

Please know:

- I will NEVER ask you for gift cards, money, or personal financial information via text.
- I will NEVER ask you to keep a conversation "discreet."

What to do:

DO NOT reply to the text.
BLOCK the number immediately.

If you are unsure if a text is legitimate, please call the church office directly to verify.

Warmly,

Pastor Chad McCallum

There's enough in the news these days for all of us to lose our breath.

Pastor Chad McCallum shared a new post this week that starts with a simple question he asked a physical therapist years ago — and the answer has stuck with him ever since. It's about anxiety, Easter, locked doors, and one little thought that shows up on his phone every morning at 7:30am.

If you've been hyperventilating at the state of the world, or holding your breath waiting for the other shoe to drop, this is worth a few minutes of your time.

God is with you. You are not alone.

What a physical therapist taught me about living in anxious times.

🚪✨ It’s here!

A few weeks ago we shared about our south entrance doors — aging, drafty, and overdue for a change.

The new doors are installed! 🙌

Thank you to everyone who has given toward this project. That front door is the first welcome anyone receives when they walk into this building — and now it’s safe, secure, and energy-efficient. We’re grateful!

We’re still working toward our $7,865 goal, so if you’d like to partner with us to finish strong, simply mark your check or giving envelope “Front Door.” Every gift counts!

🕯️ Good Friday — TONIGHT

Join us this evening for a come-and-go communion time from 7–8 PM at Eau Claire Wesleyan Church. Stop in whenever works for you, spend a few quiet moments, and remember what this weekend is really all about.

And speaking of new beginnings… 🌷

We would LOVE to have you join us for Easter this Sunday at 10 AM!

Though we missed gathering in person together yesterday, Pastor Chad’s message wasn't lost to the snow. He has turned his sermon into an article for us to sit with today. Take some time to read and reflect on how Jesus redeems our worst moments:
