We are truly delighted to welcome Pastor Scott Harris and his wife, Sandi, to our church family. Scott and Sandi come to us with full hearts and a deep love for the Pacific Northwest, a place that already holds special meaning for them, as part of their family calls Orcas Island home.

Many may remember that Scott previously served as the Pastor of Family Ministries here at Orcas Island Community Church many years ago. It is a joy to welcome him back to a place he already knows and loves, and to see how God has continued to shape his journey since that time.

Together, Scott and Sandi have built a beautiful legacy of family and faith. They are the proud parents of two daughters, one of whom lives right here on Orcas Island. They are also blessed with five grandchildren, four of whom are growing up in this very community. Their roots are already deeply woven into island life, making this new chapter feel especially meaningful.

Scott loves community and has a genuine heart for people, connection, and serving others. We are so excited he is here and eager to see the ways God will use Scott and Sandi in the life of our church and beyond.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Pastor Scott and Sandi Harris. We are so glad they are here.

We are so thankful for the end of the season volunteer/guest dinner we had Monday Night. We are working on improving our program for next season!!

The N2NS is watching the weather conditions through the end of March. We have an Emergancy plan in place if the weather conditions are not ideal. We have two volunteers who are willing to open the shelter for us if we need it. If you know someone in need please provide them with the new phone/text number for the shelter. 360-821-3514

Shelter will be opening at 6:30pm from 3/8/26-3/15/26.

Orcas Island Community Church is pleased to share exciting news with the Orcas Island community. The Orcas Outreach Ministry Team, which has faithfully hosted the Severe Weather Shelter, will officially transition the shelter’s name to the Neighbor to Neighbor Shelter (N2NS) beginning with the November 2026 shelter season.This new name reflects the heart of the ministry neighbors caring for neighbors and our continued commitment to serving individuals in need with dignity, compassion, and respect.

The Elder Board of Orcas Island Community Church has formally approved making the Neighbor to Neighbor Shelter a permanent outreach ministry of OICC for years to come. This commitment affirms the shelter’s meaningful impact and the vital role it plays in supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our island community.

“I am honored to serve as the Shelter Coordinator,” said Alicia Wigfield. “However, this ministry is truly a collective effort. It would not be possible without the leadership of OICC, our members and attenders, and the incredible support of the wider Orcas Island community.”We extend our sincere gratitude to the many partners who have supported the shelter financially, through in-kind donations, and through countless volunteer hours. These include the Community Resource Center, Orcas Island Food Bank, Island Market, Lower Tavern, Orcas Island Community Foundation, Country Corner, Eastsound Sporting Goods, Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Faraways Boutique, Family Tree Chiropractic, Lion’s Club, Orcas Island Storage LLC, Pawski’s, Island Hardware, Olga Rising, Ray’s Pharmacy, The Orcas Store, and the many community members of Orcas Island., San Juan County, Orcas Island Fire & EMS, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Department, many others who have stood alongside us.

The Neighbor to Neighbor Shelter will operate during the 2026–2027 winter season beginning in November. As we prepare for the upcoming season, we once again depend on the generosity of our community. Financial contributions, food donations, and volunteer support are essential to sustaining this ministry.

Hi Everyone,

I just want to send out a huge thank you to all of the incredible volunteers who have helped make the shelter possible this season. Your time, compassion, and dedication mean more than words can express.

This work truly takes a team, and I am so grateful for each and every one of you. Your support, kindness, and willingness to step up have made a real difference for our guests and for our community as a whole.

I genuinely could not do this without you. Thank you for showing up, caring deeply, and being such an amazing group of people.
