💐🎨 Carrabelle Nest was full of smiles and sweet creativity as Mrs. Lewis brought students in by small groups to create their “Portraits of Love” for Mother’s Day! While making these special gifts, students practiced early reading skills by sharing kind words about their mothers, using descriptive language, and talking through their ideas. Math was woven in as they explored shapes, size, symmetry, and spacing while designing each portrait. It was a fun and meaningful way to build creativity, confidence, and academic skills all at once—learning made with love! 💖📚➕

Yesterday we said farewell to two very special members of our Nest family, Mr. Dave and Mrs. Sue.
Their time, patience, and dedication meant so much to our children and to our program. They gave more than their time—they gave their hearts. Through every lesson, every smile, and every moment of encouragement, they made a lasting impact on the children they served.
Mr. Dave and Mrs. Sue will be greatly missed by both our staff and our students. We are so thankful they chose to spend their time investing in our children, and their kindness and support will not be forgotten.
Thank you, Mr. Dave and Mrs. Sue, for the love, care, and encouragement you shared so freely. You will always be a part of our Nest family. 💙

💵📚 Eastpoint Nest Group 5 worked with Mr. Zach on an important real-world math skill—learning how to convert dollar amounts into coins and change. Students practiced counting money, subtraction, addition, and determining the correct change from different purchase amounts.
To strengthen literacy skills, students read money values, solved word problems, followed multi-step directions, and used financial vocabulary during discussion and practice.
Hands-on lessons like these support 21st Century learning expectations by combining reading, math, critical thinking, and life-readiness skills that students can use every day.

💰📚 Eastpoint Nest Group 3 with Ms. J and Ms. Vause was hard at work building real-world skills through coin counting and money recognition! Students practiced important math concepts such as identifying coins, counting values, adding amounts, and problem-solving.

To strengthen literacy skills, students also focused on reading coin names, following directions, using money vocabulary, and discussing how money is used in everyday life.

Hands-on activities like these help students grow in both reading and math while preparing them with practical life skills in a fun and engaging way!

Group 1 with Mrs. April practiced all about the number 4 through engaging, hands-on activities designed to build early math and literacy skills.
Students worked on number recognition, counting sets of 4, tracing and writing the number 4, and identifying number words through reading activities. These foundational skills help strengthen confidence in both math and reading readiness.
Learning through fun, play, and practice is how our youngest learners grow!

Group 4 with Ms. Lewis explored Civics Education while also strengthening their reading and math skills.
Activity: Chocolate Chip Mining 🍪⛏️
Students used cookies to represent land and chocolate chips to represent coal. Using only toothpicks as tools, they carefully “mined” the coal while learning about using shared resources responsibly.
During the activity, students practiced reading directions, discussing key vocabulary, counting resources, and using math skills to compare results.
Hands-on learning makes big lessons stick!

Science is everywhere — and Group 4 proved it today! 🚀 Carrabelle Nest students dove deep into Newton's Three Laws of Motion through a rich, hands-on experience that wove together science, reading, and mathematics into one unforgettable session.
Our students aren't just learning about science — they ARE scientists. Every question they ask, every experiment they test, every calculation they solve moves them one step closer to understanding the forces that shape our world
