Easton Baptist Church Where the Bible is taught and people are loved

06/02/2026

The Great Commission is not merely about going—it is about making disciples.

This weekend, we were reminded that Christ has entrusted His gospel to His church. Through prayer, giving, encouragement, and faithful partnership, we join in the work of making disciples both here and around the world.

We are grateful for the missionaries, ministries, and church family members who help us steward the gospel well. Thank you to everyone who participated in our EB Cares Missions Conference.

May we continue to grow in the Lord, love people well, and faithfully carry the message of Christ to those around us.

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations..." — Matthew 28:19

What is the Great Commission really about?

The Great Commission is more than simply going. It is more than professions of faith. It is more than numbers.

The Lord’s command is to make disciples.

When the Bible is taught and people are loved, Christ is formed in us.

And what Christ is doing in us is what we are to take to the world around us.

That is the heart of the Great Commission.

That is the stewardship of EB Cares.

Through prayer, giving, and encouragement, we partner with missionaries and ministries who are making disciples of all nations with the same emphasis that is making disciples out of us.

Tonight, we continue our EB Cares Missions Conference at Easton Baptist Church.

Last night, we were reminded that the Great Commission is not simply about going somewhere, being a good influence, or gathering professions of faith. Christ has called His church to make disciples—followers who know Him and are being formed into His image.

We’ve heard how the gospel is advancing through faithful missionaries around the world. We’ve been reminded that our prayers, encouragement, and generosity reach places many of us may never physically go. And we’ve been challenged by Christ’s promise:

“Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” — Matthew 28:20 (KJV)

The mission continues because Christ is still building His church. We must continue stewarding the gospel He has entrusted to us.

Join us tonight at 6:30 PM as we consider the motivation behind EB Cares and our stewardship of the gospel. Pastor Jake will be teaching from 2 Corinthians 8–9 and we will continue hearing from the missionaries we support.

Then join us tomorrow morning as we conclude our study through the Gospel of Luke and bring our Missions Conference to a close. Pastor Jake will show us how Luke 24 provides the application for everything we've considered this weekend—what it means to faithfully respond to Christ's mission and carry the gospel forward.

“The Lord is at hand." (Philippians 4:5)

What a comfort—and what a challenge.

The Lord is with His people, and He is coming again soon for His church. That truth should fill us with joy, but it should also give us a sense of urgency. There are still people who need Christ. There is still work to be done. There is no time for division, distractions, or living for ourselves.

As we wait for His return, may we stand fast in Him, rejoice in Him, show kindness to others, and stay focused on the work He has given us to do.

The Lord is at hand.

Wednesday Evening Bible Study

05/27/2026

As we are taught God’s Word and experience His grace, Christ calls us to take that same Gospel hope to the world around us.
Join us for our upcoming EB Cares Weekend — a special weekend focused on discipleship, missions, and the stewardship of the Gospel.
Friday & Saturday | 6:30 PM
• Friday: Our philosophy — how we make disciples
• Saturday: Our motivation — the grace that drives us to make Christ known
We’ll hear testimonies, see what God is doing through missions, enjoy light refreshments, and spend time considering how the Lord wants to use His people in this generation.
Sunday | 10:00 AM
We’ll hear from the Baltimore Rescue Mission, conclude our study through Luke, and gather for lunch together following the service.
If you’re looking for a church family where the Bible is taught and people are loved, we’d love to have you with us.
