Experience can feel convincing—but experience is never the measure of truth.

As Paul begins addressing spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12, he reminds the Corinthians that their past way of thinking could still influence how they understood what was “spiritual.” The gifts of the Spirit were never given as a platform for self-exaltation. They exist to exalt Christ.

As Pastor Jake said, “The minute we start elevating experience is the minute we begin diminishing the value of truth.”

Join us tonight as we continue our study 1 Corinthians 12- Concerning Spiritual Gifts and look to Scripture to understand the work of the Holy Spirit and spiritual gifts.

We spend so much of life thinking, If this would just change… if I could just get there… if I had that… then I’d finally be okay.

But the believer’s greatest blessing is not something still out there waiting to be found. It is already ours in Christ.

“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.” — Ephesians 1:7

The price has been paid. Our redemption is secure. And the satisfaction, security, and standing we keep looking for in this world are found in Jesus Christ.

Jesus is enough.

Join us Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM as we continue walking through the book of Ephesians together—learning what it means to be in Christ and how that truth should shape the way we live.

The Corinthians wanted to be thought highly of in their community—for their wisdom, their power, and their prestige.

The problem was that the gospel did not help them become what they wanted to be. So instead of allowing the gospel to shape them, they forsook it—and began looking down on the very believers who didn’t fit the image they were trying to create.

But the gospel would have done something far greater: it would have brought them together as a body of believers, shining for the glory of God.

The gospel is something we rejoice in—but it is never something we treat lightly.

He bore our sin, took our punishment, shed His blood, and through His finished work we have forgiveness and redemption. Communion is not just a familiar part of a church service. It is a remembrance of His sacrifice and a proclamation of the gospel.

So when we come to the table, we come with gratitude, reverence, and hearts fixed on Christ.

Back to School Sunday ❤️

Before another school year begins, we wanted to take time to pray for our students and families, encourage them, and most importantly point them to Christ.

There was plenty of fun afterward—but this is what matters most: our kids need the truth of God’s Word and the hope of the gospel as they walk into another year.

So thankful for a church family where the Bible is taught and people are loved. ❤️
