Good afternoon. Today’s email is the first of an expanded version that will be sent weekly. Please be sure to read to the end.
This Sunday is the Third Sunday After Pentecost, and we will continue with the Now the Feast liturgy throughout the summer.
We remind you that St. Andrew’s expenses continue throughout the summer. We appreciate your offerings being sent while you are enjoying your summer vacation.

COMMUNITY CARE
The Community Care Team is organizing our Fourth Annual Cookout/Picnic at Safe Harbor Shelter for the evening of Tuesday, July 7th. Volunteers and (specific) food donations are needed. Sign-Up Sheets are in the Narthex.
In addition, the team continues to collect donations of canned fruit, canned kidney beans, canned meat, boxed cereal, and shelf-stable milk for the Food Bank at ProJeCt.
NURSERY SCHOOL
The Nursery School Staff thank you all for your donations from the Giving Tree. We are so excited and have plans for all the new items. In addition, we remind you to continue saving bread tags throughout the summer. The more we collect, the bigger the ridiculous monstrosity we can create. We also remind you that there are limited spaces open for all classes next school year. I am in all summer and would be happy to schedule a time to meet with family members or answer any questions over the phone.
SUMMER SCIENCE CAMP
There are still a few spaces available for the Nursery School’s first Summer Science Camp. Exploration Squad will be held July 20-23 from 9am – Noon and is being offered for children ages 4-8. $125 for the week. All campers will be actively involved in the experiments, and the lessons will be designed with the individual camper ages in mind. Reach out at any time for details or to sign up.
THREE WEEK BIBLE STUDY
In late May 2026, Pope Leo XIV shared his first pontiff’s encyclical letter. The letter looked the impact of artificial intelligence. He did not address the use issue as yes or no to the technology, but rather between the building of the Tower of Babel or the rebuilding of the City of Jerusalem. Two interesting Biblical stories. An opportunity is being provided to look at the two stories and see how the fit into the Pope’s understanding of AI and our own. We will look at the Genesis story of the Tower of Babel and the rebuilding of Jerusalem through telling of the story in the Biblical book of Nehemiah. The three sessions will be held Tuesday evenings July 7, July 14, and July 21 at 7:00 PM through Zoom. As is the case with all our Zoom meetings, the link can be found on our website calendar. Steve Moyer will lead the Bible Study. We hope you will join us.
