Good afternoon. Today’s email is the first of an expanded version that will be sent weekly. Please be sure to read to the end.

This Sunday is the Third Sunday After Pentecost, and we will continue with the Now the Feast liturgy throughout the summer.

We remind you that St. Andrew’s expenses continue throughout the summer. We appreciate your offerings being sent while you are enjoying your summer vacation.

COMMUNITY CARE

The Community Care Team is organizing our Fourth Annual Cookout/Picnic at Safe Harbor Shelter for the evening of Tuesday, July 7th. Volunteers and (specific) food donations are needed. Sign-Up Sheets are in the Narthex.

In addition, the team continues to collect donations of canned fruit, canned kidney beans, canned meat, boxed cereal, and shelf-stable milk for the Food Bank at ProJeCt.

NURSERY SCHOOL

The Nursery School Staff thank you all for your donations from the Giving Tree. We are so excited and have plans for all the new items. In addition, we remind you to continue saving bread tags throughout the summer. The more we collect, the bigger the ridiculous monstrosity we can create. We also remind you that there are limited spaces open for all classes next school year. I am in all summer and would be happy to schedule a time to meet with family members or answer any questions over the phone.

SUMMER SCIENCE CAMP

There are still a few spaces available for the Nursery School’s first Summer Science Camp. Exploration Squad will be held July 20-23 from 9am – Noon and is being offered for children ages 4-8. $125 for the week. All campers will be actively involved in the experiments, and the lessons will be designed with the individual camper ages in mind. Reach out at any time for details or to sign up.

THREE WEEK BIBLE STUDY

In late May 2026, Pope Leo XIV shared his first pontiff’s encyclical letter. The letter looked the impact of artificial intelligence. He did not address the use issue as yes or no to the technology, but rather between the building of the Tower of Babel or the rebuilding of the City of Jerusalem. Two interesting Biblical stories. An opportunity is being provided to look at the two stories and see how the fit into the Pope’s understanding of AI and our own. We will look at the Genesis story of the Tower of Babel and the rebuilding of Jerusalem through telling of the story in the Biblical book of Nehemiah. The three sessions will be held Tuesday evenings July 7, July 14, and July 21 at 7:00 PM through Zoom. As is the case with all our Zoom meetings, the link can be found on our website calendar. Steve Moyer will lead the Bible Study. We hope you will join us.

Good afternoon.

This Sunday is the Second Sunday After Pentecost and marks the return of Now the Feast.

The Community Care Team thanks you for your donations of food for the food bank at ProJeCt. As a reminder, all non-perishable food is accepted, but they have the most need for canned fruit, canned kidney beans, and canned meat, as well as boxed cereal and shelf-stable milk.

The Nursery School is so appreciative of your donations from the Giving Tree. If you are interested in picking up an item on our wish list, select a tag from the Giving Tree in the Narthex. Each tag corresponds with a particular item that can be found on Amazon (with a picture, price, and full titel). Some of the items can also be purchased at a grocery or big box store, but many were selected for a specific reason such as texture, quality, being machine washable, compatibility with another item, etc. Donated items should be shipped to your home and brought to church. In addition to the items on the Giving Tree, remember to save your plastic bread tags all summer.

Calendar for the Upcoming Week:

Sunday, June 7 Worship, 9:30am

Monday, June 8 Council Meeting, Zoom, 7pm

Parent Partnership Support Group, Social Room, 7pm

Tuesday, June 9 Musical Arts Chorus Rehearsal, Worship Space, 7pm

Wednesday, June 10 St. Andrew’s Women Meeting, Social Room, 10am

Friday, June 12 Crossroads AA, Social Room, 7:30pm

Sunday, June 14 Worship, 9:30am

Musical Arts Chorus Concert, 3pm

I hope to see you soon.

Good afternoon, friends.

This Sunday is Trinity Sunday. We hope you will be able to attend in person. It is always good to see our church family together.

We remind you that we are always collecting non-perishable food for members of our community. In particular, the ProJeCt Food Bank is requesting canned beans, canned protein (tuna, chicken, etc), boxed cereal, canned fruit, and shelf-stable milk. Regardless, the need is great, and we will gladly pass along any non-perishable food that you bring in. Food can be brought to Hope House or placed in the labeled bins in the Narthex.

The Congregation Council has asked the Nursery School staff to create a Giving Tree. Although we have so many toys, there are definite needs, including toys for science and math as well as multicultural dolls. In addition, there are things like glue and tape that we use daily. You will find the Giving Tree in the Narthex on Sunday morning. The tags have been created using specific items found on Amazon, but many of these things can be acquired at the grocery store. We truly appreciate all the support we get from the church. In addition to the Giving Tree, know that we continue to collect bread tags. Yes, those little square pieces of plastic. We want to see how many we can collect by September. A basket for the tags is on the bookshelf outside of the classrooms.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
