Trauma-Informed Ministry Training
July 15–16, 2026
St. Paul’s By-the-Sea Episcopal Church, Ocean City, Maryland

Update: Great news! We are excited to welcome Rev. Deacon Paula Waite from the Diocese of Delaware as part of Day 2 of our Trauma-Informed Ministry Training.

Rev. Deacon Paula serves as a deacon in the Diocese of Delaware and as a chaplain at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Delaware. She brings extensive experience in pastoral care, spiritual support, and ministry in healthcare settings. We are grateful she will be joining us as we explore the intersection of trauma-informed care, faith, and compassionate ministry.

How can we better recognize trauma, respond with compassion, and create communities where healing and belonging can flourish?

Join clergy and lay leaders from across the Diocese of Easton for a two-day training focused on trauma-informed ministry, practical skills for pastoral care and outreach, and the connection between evangelism and authentic relationship.

Participants will explore:
• Understanding trauma and its impact
• Creating safe and welcoming faith communities
• De-escalation and compassionate response skills
• Caring for ourselves while caring for others
• Trauma-informed evangelism and the Way of Love

This training is offered free of charge through a grant from the Episcopal Evangelism Society.
