Easton United Methodist Church Our Mission: Making disciples with growth and commitment by utilizing our gifts.

Hello Church Family!
I wanted to put in a little note from last week's sermon:

When a flashlight grows dim or quits working, you don't throw it away, you change the batteries. When a person messes up and finds themselves in a dark place, do you cast them aside? Of course not, you help them change their batteries. Some people may need AA batteries, attention and affection; some may need AAA batteries, attention, affection, and acceptance; some need C batteries, compassion; some need D batteries, direction. And if they still don't seem to find the light and shine...simply sit with them quietly and share your light with them.
Jesus is the light that shines in the darkness. He shines on us and we shine on others. As a follower of Christ, we shine the light of Jesus Christ and when someone also wants to believe Jesus will jump start their life with the True Light that is Jesus Christ.

3rd Sunday of Advent.
The third candle in the Advent Wreth is the Repentance Candle, which is the symbol of joy. Our deep joy is a reflection of God's gracious love. Our joy comes from the greatest gift that only God gives; our sins are forgiven.
Joy is not just being happy when things are going right. It is also being joyful in the middle of struggles.
We need to believe with our heads, by confessing our sins; with our hearts by caring for others; and with our hands by doing God's will.
Reflect the joy of Christmas with your head, hearts, and hands.
Merry Christmas!!

Church Services are canceled for today, 30 November 2025.

Today is the first Sunday in Advent. The Expectation candle has us looking forward to the Second Coming of Christ because we have an inheritance reserved in heaven. It is a living hope through the resurrection of Christ from the dead.

We can have hope today because we have faith in Jesus Christ. Without faith, there is no hope, and without hope there is no true faith. They are complementary. Faith is grounded in the reality of the past. Hope is looking to the reality of the future. Christians need both faith and hope. Faith is now, and hope is the future.

The Christmas Season is when Hope is born!
