Last night, Chad Benoit presented the earnings from this event to the Congregational Church of Eastford . Here's what he said:
"First we would like to thank everybody for coming out and being part of such a wonderful event. This event is a great gift to our community. Children and adults look forward to this annual event where kids have fun and adults get together with their neighbors. Our community would like to return a favor by expressing our gratitude towards CCE for the many services they have provided to us. There were countless hands that made the fabulously fun family fundraiser possible.It may have been Herm Barlows idea that instigated it , but because of the reputation of CCE many people soon joined the effort. When we think of the church we often think of the building on the hill, my wife and I were married in that building. For some it's where the family gathers for worship for others its the place of Hope in dark times a place of comfort and rest but what we saw at last Saturday's auction reflects
the impact that this church has had on this community, the community in which it lives and serves. The building may be gone but the church remains. So it's with great honor and humble pride that we're able to present this check today for $31,202.79 to the Congregational Church of Eastford Fire Fund."
