You don't have to have all the faith in the world!

"Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me." (Psalm 50:15 ESV)

When an enemy king surrounded their town, the people of Jabesh didn't pretend to be strong. They asked for time to call for help:

"Give us seven days to see if we can get some help!" (1 Samuel 11:3 TLB)

Peter did the same thing when the waves got too big:

"But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, 'Lord, save me!'" (Matthew 14:30 NIV)

Jesus reached out and caught him. It doesn't take a perfect prayer. It takes knowing where your help comes from:

"I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth." (Psalm 121:1-2 NIV)

Don't give up without crying out. Help is on the way.

"For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." (Isaiah 41:13 NIV)

Church might be exactly what you need this Sunday.

Now let's be clear about something. The point is NOT that you might become rich. The point is that whatever happens, it is all from God, through God and will return to God and we are to give thanks to God for whatever our lot in life is.

Two questions God will ask you one day.

Your life here is short. Eternity isn't. Scripture says every one of us will stand before God and give an account for how we lived, and it comes down to two questions.

The first one is "What did you do with my Son Jesus?" This question decides eternity. It's not about whether your family knew Him. Did you know Him for yourself? (Revelation 20:11-12)

Here's the good news. Every sin has to be paid for, and you decide how. Jesus paid for yours on the cross. Receive Him, and your record is wiped clean and your name is in the book of life.

The second question is "What did you do with what I gave you?" This one is for people who already follow Jesus. Heaven is settled. Now God asks how you used your life. (2 Corinthians 5:10)

Think about what He's given you: a house, a car, a career, influence at work, money. Did any of it ever bless someone else? He will reward each person according to what they have done. (Matthew 16:27)

So how do you answer that second question well? Give according to what you have (2 Corinthians 9:11). Serve God by serving others (Mark 10:43-45). Share your story and share Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20).

Not sure what to say? Invite someone to church this week and sit beside them. (Luke 14:23)

It is so easy to get stuck in the mentality that generosity is only what we do with our money. What have you done to build the kingdom with your house? Or your extra car? Or your time?

"Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice." (Psalm 112:5)

Generosity shows up in your time, your home, your influence and your money. Paul told Timothy to command those who have more than enough "to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share." (1 Timothy 6:18)

Jesus showed us what that looks like: "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Mark 10:45)

And when God gives us more than enough, it's for a reason: "You will be made rich in every way so that you may be generous in every way, which produces thanksgiving to God through us." (2 Corinthians 9:11)

Live generous with eternity in mind. "In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life." (1 Timothy 6:19)
