Fear is a part of discipleship if we're honest because what Jesus asks of us is hard. We are to stick our necks out in the world for the sake of others, for mercy, and for justice. The gospel is way bigger than our own comfort! And yet, we have each other and God accompaniment. We are called and we can do this.

๐ŸŒŸ Meet Our Member: Pastor Nancy Gradwohl ๐ŸŒŸ

Born in 1939 and baptized at the same church where her parents were baptized and confirmed, Pastor Nancy's faith journey has been a remarkable one.

Growing up surrounded by Danish traditions, beach adventures, and family celebrations, Nancy discovered a love for ministry as a teenager after being invited to share a message with her congregation. Although women were not ordained at the time, that calling never left her.

Over the years, Nancy wore many hatsโ€”teacher, preschool educator, caretaker, seamstress, and even racetrack stall cleaner! She and her husband raised six sons, creating a home full of faith, love, sports, and adventure.

Later in life, encouraged by a mentor pastor, Nancy pursued a Master of Divinity degree and was ordained. She served congregations in Alaska and Washington, including Faith Lutheran in Leavenworth. Along the way, a transformative seminary experience serving alongside people experiencing homelessness deepened her call to ministry and service.

Nancy's story is a beautiful reminder that God's call can come at any age, and that a life of faith often leads us to places we never imagined. We are grateful to have her as part of our church family. โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ“š Exciting News at Celebration! ๐Ÿ“š

Celebration now has its very own Little Library!

You'll find a wonderful collection of books, including church resources from Pastor Sarah's personal shelves, along with generous donations from Nancy Gradwohl and other pastors.

A special thank you to Dee Johnson and Becky Britt, who donated the bookshelf, organized and labeled the collection, and dedicated countless hours to bringing this library to life. We are so grateful for their time, care, and generosity!

The library is located right next to the Nursery and is available for everyone to enjoy. Feel free to borrow a book, take it home, and return it when you're finished so others can enjoy it too.

We hope this new resource inspires learning, reflection, and faith-filled conversations throughout our community. Happy reading! โค๏ธ

๐ŸŒŸ Sunday School Has Wrapped Up for the School Year! ๐ŸŒŸ

We had a delightful and faithful group of students this year who enjoyed Bible stories, crafts, snacks, and lots of fun activities. Together, we explored stories from the Old Testament, learned about the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus, and concluded with Pentecost, Stephen, and Paul.

It has been a wonderful year with some truly awesome kids, and we feel blessed to share faith lessons and fellowship with them each week. While we are grateful for a summer break, we are already looking forward to welcoming our energetic group back this fall!

If you know any school-age children in your family, neighborhood, or friend group who might be interested, we'd love to welcome them to learn more about Jesus, the church, and our special church community. โค๏ธ๐Ÿ™

Jesus' example is to live on the edge of the structures we make about who is in and who is out. This is the place of mercy and justice and we are called to do the same.

A sermon on Genesis 1 - Creation

What does it mean to create like God, to have dominion like God? To have dominion like God is a very different thing than what humans think it means. (Did that remind anyone else of the Princess Bride? ha!)
