Christ Episcopal Church sends a sincere thank you to everyone who helped to make our 4th of July Strawberry Fest, Bake Sale and parade float, a success! Thank You to everyone who helped with set up and clean up, washed dishes, who served strawberries. shortcakes, ice cream and whipped cream, or grilled koegel hot dogs, who picked up trash, cleaned tables, made lemonade or refilled ice tea, who donated water bottles, or donated baked goods for our bake sale, or helped to decorate our parade float. Thank you to those who planned, ordered, picked up items and donated everything needed for a successful day. Thank you Marion's Dairy Bar for donating delicious vanilla ice cream! Thank you Neiman's Bakery for baking shortcakes just for us! Thank you to family members, Grace Lutheran Church, the Tawas Community Concert Band members, the TAHS soccer team, AA groups, and all other friends of Christ Church.

July 4th, 10:00-2:00, Christ Church will host the Annual Strawberry Fest & Bake Sale in downtown East Tawas, at 202 West Westover, one block from Newman Street and US23. Everyone is welcome!

This Father's Day we honor all fathers, male mentors, and our spiritual leaders.

A collect for Father's Day by Fr. Bryan Owen.
O Lord our God, creator of heaven and earth, through your Son Jesus Christ you have revealed yourself as a heavenly Father to all of your children. Bless, we pray, all earthly fathers. Strengthen them to nurture, protect, and guide the children entrusted to their care. Instill within them the virtues of love and patience. May they be slow to anger and quick to forgive. And through the ministrations of your Holy Spirit, may all fathers be strong and steadfast examples of faithfulness, responsibility, and loving-kindness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

For the Episcopal Church, Juneteenth is not only a day of remembrance. It is a summon to truth-telling, repair, and faithful public witness. We honor the joy of freedom while also acknowledging that emancipation was delayed, contested, and incomplete. The legacies of slavery continue to shape racial disparities in wealth, health, housing, incarceration, migration, and political power.

As followers of Jesus, we reject every theology and political movement that baptizes racial hierarchy, white supremacy, domination, or Christian nationalism. Our faith calls us instead toward Beloved Community: a society where every person bears the full dignity of being made in the image of God and where public policy protects the freedom and flourishing of all.

This coming Sunday, 3 PM, Christ Church will sponsor our second annual Rainbow Walk. Please join us as we celebrate our diversity and God's love for all of us, with prayer, fellowship, and ice cream.

1 Corinthians 12:12, 26-27
Christ is just like the human body—a body is a unit and has many parts; and all the parts of the body are one body, even though there are many. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if one part gets the glory, all the parts celebrate with it. You are the body of Christ and parts of each other (Common English Bible).

"Each of us has a unique part to play in the life of the church and in the life of our communities. We are all part of the body as a whole and we are all important to the work of the church. Each of us has gifts to bring and share.

In baptism, God, speaking through the church, claims us in Christ. We become, in Christ, the community of God’s final purpose: justice and peace, love and plenty for the whole creation. This new community lives in Eucharistic fellowship with God and creation, as a sign and instrument of God’s reconciling purpose in the world.

The church is called to embody and advance God’s mission. Ministry is the vocation of the whole community: laypeople, deacons, priests, and bishops who together represent Christ and the church in the world."
