We again have been deluged with ads selected by Meta's algorithm of what it thinks a Friends Meeting would like. Mostly wrong. I think it borrowed from the page manager (me)'s personal interests (e.g. cooking), but it also does a scattershot of pop culture and sports. I've made an effort to hide all wastefully digressive ones, and hope the algorithm can 'learn' from this.

Dear Friends,
About this FB/ Meta page. Your maintenance person here finds myself weeding out materials that show up relentlessly off topic. I sense that FB's algorithm is pretty clueless about what Quakers and the Religious Society of Friends in Syracuse, New York, USA, North America, Western Hemisphere, Planet Earth are likely to care about.
So I'm going to try to post only affirmative terms that might invite useful responses. It may make the weeding a bit easier.
The stuff I blocked or hid was amusing in its sheer inappropriateness, but even mentioning those categories might attract more.
