Meet our wonderful Pastor: Dr. DeRienzia Johnson, born August 14, 1970, in Sandersville, Georgia, was raised in a strong Christian household by his mother and grandparents. He is married to Vernice Lashawn Johnson, and they have a son, Joshua.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Religion and Philosophy from Clark Atlanta University, a Master of Divinity from the Interdenominational Theological Center, and a Doctorate from Liberty University in 2017. Licensed and ordained in Atlanta, he has served in various ministry roles, most recently as pastor of Bethesda Baptist Church before leading Greater New Hope.
Pastor Johnson is known for his energetic leadership, engaging teaching style, and vision to uplift and serve all people. Under his guidance, Greater New Hope has experienced significant growth, and the church celebrates his leadership as a blessing.
