Title: God Will Give You Strength
Life has a way of sucking us in, washing us up, and blowing us over. But no matter what you are facing, God will give you the strength to get through it. Just like Chippy the parakeet who lost his song after life knocked him around, some of us have lost our joy. Sunday's message was a reminder: do not lose your song.
Pastor Fairley brought a powerful word from Philippians 4:13, reminding us that we can endure all things through Christ who continuously gives us strength. It is not a one-time deposit. He keeps on giving it, every single time we need it.
If you missed this morning's service, make plans to catch up. And remember, as long as you stay with Jesus, you can get whatever you need through Him. Pull into that gas station called 413 and let Him fill you up.
What happens when life does to us what it did to Chippy the parakeet -- sucking us in, washing us up, and blowing us over? This message meets us right in the middle of that question with a word that is both honest and hopeful. Drawing from Philippians 4:13, where Paul declares that he can do all things through Christ who gives him strength, we are invited to look closely at what that promise actually means. It is not a blank check for wealth or ease. It is something far more durable -- the assurance that no matter what we face, God will supply the strength to get through it. Paul wrote those words while chained in a Roman prison, and yet the letter he produced from that cell is one of the most joy-filled writings in all of scripture. That contrast alone should stir something in us. Joy is not the absence of hardship. It is the presence of Christ in the middle of hardship. We are challenged to examine where we have placed our joy -- in people, in circumstances, in things that shift -- and to consider what it would look like to anchor it in something that cannot be moved.y
