🙏🏾 In Communion with God

Hands clasped. Head bowed. Heart surrendered.

This is not just a pause—it is prayer.

This is not just stillness—it is sacred.

On Communion Sundays, Reverend Doctor Maria Norales Crompton, DMin, Senior Pastor, shows us what it means to come before the Lord with reverence:

✨ Before the bread is broken and the cup is shared—there is stillness.
✨ Before she leads—she listens.
✨ Before she speaks—she prays.

And now, as Reverend Doctor Crompton steps into her newly earned title of Doctor of Ministry, we are reminded that true leadership begins not with a degree—but on bended knees. She has pursued excellence in her studies the same way she pursues God—with humility, devotion, and prayer.

𝙍𝙚𝙫. 𝘿𝙧. 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖 𝙉. 𝘾𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙩𝙤𝙣, 𝘿𝙈𝙞𝙣

Tomorrow, September 6th, we joyfully welcome Rev. Dr. Crompton back to the pulpit after her time away. We pray she is rested, revived, and ready to bring the Word with power, clarity, and grace.

Elmwood, let’s surround our Pastor with love as she steps back into her calling. God is still speaking — and we are grateful for the vessel He uses.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Prostate cancer touches many families in our community — and the good news is that when it’s found early, it is very treatable.

💙 Prostate Cancer Hits Black Men Harder — But Early Detection Saves Lives
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in Black men.

- About 1 in 6 Black men will be diagnosed in his lifetime.
- Black men are twice as likely to die from prostate cancer as White men.
- Critically, research shows this is not because of race itself — when Black men receive equal, high‑quality care, outcomes are the same.

Early screening and strong medical advocacy truly change the story.

💙 Faith + Health: Your Life Has Purpose

God has a future planned for you. Early detection helps make sure you’re here to live it — fully, joyfully, and with the people who love you.

💙 What You Can Do This Month

- Schedule a prostate cancer screening (PSA test).
- Encourage the men you love to get checked.
- Talk openly about family history and risk.
- Share resources that empower Black men to advocate for their health.

💙 Healthy Men Strengthen Healthy Communities

Let’s make September a month of awareness, action, and life‑saving conversations.
