💜 Our Caregivers Support Group gathers.
🙏🏾 And our new Prayer List Submission Form makes it easier to let us know when you or someone you love needs prayer.

Tomorrow, we gather for Communion Sunday AND Back-to-School Sunday as we worship together, remember Christ’s sacrifice, and cover our students, families, educators and school communities in prayer for the year ahead. 🙏🏾📚

A new month is here, and there’s plenty happening at Messiah! As we move from our August Sabbath into a new season, we’re excited to worship, learn, pray, grow and serve together.

📚 Back-to-School Worship Service
Join us Sunday, September 6 at 10:00 AM for collective prayer, as we cover our students, educators and families for a blessed and successful school year. Light refreshments will be served after service. 🌭🥤

🇺🇸 Labor Day
The church office will be closed Monday, September 7, and will reopen Tuesday, September 8.

🎶 Women’s Day Choir Rehearsals
Calling all women of Messiah! Rehearsals begin Wednesday, September 9 at 6:30 PM, as we prepare for Women’s Day on September 27.

🙏🏾 Our Weekly Ministries Are Returning!
➡️Sunday Morning Prayer and Virtual Sunday School resume September 13.
➡️Wednesday Morning Inspiration resumes September 16.
➡️Virtual Bible Study resumes September 17.

🎤 A Message of Encouragement for Our Families

A special thank you to Dr. Reggie Wright, Jr. for sharing an inspiring and timely message with our students and families during the Gearing Up for Greatness Back-to-School Community Event.

As our young people prepare to begin a new school year, Dr. Wright offered an important reminder to the parents and caregivers in attendance: show up for your children. ❤️

Our children need more than backpacks and school supplies to succeed. They need our presence, encouragement, support and involvement throughout the journey. When we show up, we remind them that they are supported, valued and never walking alone.

Thank you, Dr. Wright, for taking the time to pour into our families and remind us that gearing our children up for greatness also means making sure they know we are right there beside them.

🎒📚 GEARING UP FOR GREATNESS! ✏️💛

What a day of community, generosity, fun and fellowship!

The Essex County P.B.A. Conference, in conjunction with Messiah Baptist Church, came together for our Gearing Up for Greatness Back-to-School Community Event, and our officers showed up in force! 💪🏾

Families were welcomed with an abundance of book bags, school supplies, gift bags, goodies, food and more, all provided to help our students begin the new school year prepared and encouraged.

But the day was about more than supplies. ❤️

Our families were also blessed with an inspiring and encouraging message from Dr. Reggie Wright, Jr., reminding our young people of the greatness and potential within them as they prepare for another school year.

Throughout the day, there was laughter, music, activities, fellowship and, most importantly, community coming together to support our children.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Essex County P.B.A. Conference and participating law enforcement officers for their generosity, partnership and commitment to the families of our community.

We are equally grateful for the representatives from Messiah’s Seven Pillars who showed up and volunteered their time to welcome, serve and support our families.

Your presence was a beautiful reminder that when we work together, we can make an even greater impact.

To every volunteer, partner, family and community member who joined us: THANK YOU!
