Jesus had a difficult conversation with the woman at the well, and gave her the one thing that she most needs (and the one thing that we most need). Here's a clip from last weeks sermon. You can find the whole service and sermon on our YouTube channel. Read the story in John 4:5-26.

On Sunday, March 1st, the servant event trip participants woke up bright and early to get ready for church. They attended the 10 AM service at Mountainside Lutheran Church and had an amazing time. There was another college group there from the University of Concordia-Wisconsin, and it was nice seeing other students coming to serve the community. After a conversation with the pastor at the church, the group headed to Ingles, a local grocery store, to grocery shop for the week. After returning and having lunch in the cabin, the group headed to the Appalachian Caverns, where they did a tour of the cave. The sights were beautiful, and the history was interesting. On the way back up from the cave, they were offered the opportunity to do a crawl under a giant rock in the cave, and they all decided to give it a go. Liz’s claustrophobia got too much for her, so she turned around, but Alexis and Rose completed the crawl.
After shopping in the gift shop, the group decided to have one more stop before heading back to the cabin for the night. They stopped at Elk River Falls, where they hiked for an hour, scaling muddy terrain and sitting on rocks overlooking the falls. Alexis was more cautious about the rocks, but eventually everyone ended up out over the falls, and the view was amazing.
After heading home at 6:30, Alexis made dinner. She made a chopped salad, and it was a hit with the group. After that, she led devotion from the Lenten devotion journal from MLC, and the group headed to bed to prepare for their first day of work.

On Saturday, February 28th, the MLC servant event trip participants departed for Newland, North Carolina, to serve with the Avery County Habitat for Humanity.
The team, Alexis, Rose, and Liz, started the 12-hour drive at 7 AM that Saturday. Rose and Liz were the designated drivers, switching off every two hours, while Alexis was the route coordinator and aux-controller. Rose drove the first two hours before a quick stop at a Target to order Starbucks. Liz drove the next two hours, switching drivers again at Goodrich Giles in Ohio, where there was a bridge and a beautiful view. The next stop was Buc-ees in Richmond, Kentucky, where the group got lunch and a picture with the Bucky statue before heading off again. The next stop was at Cove Lake State Park, where the group hiked, took some pictures, and relaxed before continuing the drive. The final stop before arriving at their cabin, the group stopped in at Walmart to pick up dinner for the night and some other necessities for the upcoming week.
Finally, the group headed towards their final location, Doe River Landing campgrounds. After getting lost and turned around, the group arrived at 8:30, settled in, and had frozen pizza for dinner.
