David’s story with Bathsheba shows how one hidden sin can snowball into devastating consequences when we try to cover it up instead of facing the truth. Through Nathan’s confrontation, we see the importance of honest accountability, humility, and returning to God even when we have failed deeply. No one is beyond redemption, and God’s grace meets us when we stop hiding and come honestly before Him.

Summer is ending, and the kids know what that means!

Join us Sunday, September 13th at 10:30am for an hour of fun as we have a kickoff celebration as Kid's Club is resuming for the school year!

Kid's Club is perfect for ages PreK through 5th grade.
Have older kids? Youth Group is starting back up for kids ages 6th-12th grades, too!

What kind of king seeks out the forgotten, the broken, and the hidden — not to punish them, but to give them a seat at his table? In 2 Samuel 9, we see David's stunning act of kindness toward Mephibosheth, a crippled man living in a place literally meaning "no significance." David sought him out, restored his inheritance, and welcomed him as one of his own sons.

This is a picture of the gospel. God does not wait for us to find our way to him. He pursues us, pulls us out of our place of nothing, and invites us to a seat at his table — undeserved, unearned, and freely given.

The question worth sitting with today: have you taken your place at that table? If you are not sure, we would love to talk and pray with you.

We ended our Intergenerational Sunday School by playing Poetry for Neanderthals again as a fun way for our groups to recap this week's sermon!

We continued in our 2 Samuel series this weekend with special guest speaker, Audrey Wells. We saw that David’s kindness to Mephibosheth gives a powerful picture of being sought out, welcomed, and given a place at the King’s table without earning it. This story invites us to ask whether we have truly received that undeserved place with God through Jesus. It also challenges us to extend costly kindness to others, even when it cannot be repaid and even when doing the right thing feels hard!

We’ve mentioned a few times our our Samuel series is a continuation of our Judges series, so we thought we’d give you an inside look as to how our decorations helped tell these stories:

Our Judges series was a march to the bottom, and you know the decorations helped with that feeling of darkness and depression when they were taken down and everyone breathed a sigh of relief!

And then our Samuel series was the rebuilding from Judges. We started our Saul banners with ruins (broken columns), and as David came on the scene, the columns were repaired but still had their cracks. And when David is officially king? Down came the Saul banners, up went David’s, and cracks were replaced with gold!
