“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

This verse speaks to the heart in moments when life feels heavy, uncertain, or beyond our strength. The psalmist begins with a question many of us quietly ask: Where will my help come from? It is the question of a weary soul looking for stability, comfort, and hope.

Then comes the answer—clear, steady, and full of peace: “My help comes from the Lord.” Not merely from human strength, changing circumstances, or temporary solutions, but from God Himself. He is the Maker of heaven and earth, which means His power is not small, and His care is not limited. The One who created all things is fully able to sustain us in the middle of our need.
