When tempted to sin, read/recite from God’s word. May I suggest “The LORD is my Shepherd, I will not be in want...”?

“You shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free” The truth is hard to find for some, but not hard for Jesus followers

We’ve been watching “Alone”, a history channel show about people being placed in the Arctic wilderness alone and without food. They seem to transform from energetic optimism to painfully focused on food and family after 30 or so days. Jesus fasted and prayed for 40 and focused on our Father. What a man!

The more I hang out with God, the more I care about people. Hmm

I’ve heard that the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, and his mercies never come to an end. So how should my love and mercies be?

Here's one theory: God created some beautiful things just for himself. This nebula is way out there about 7,000 light years away. Hubble took this pic. It's a wondrous piece of art about 4 light years across. We just see the pic but God can hang out and view his beauty from all sides.

Do NOT!, under any circumstances, let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. In my Father's house there is much abundance; if that were not so, I would have told you.

Some of these words are from John 14:1. While somebody did add a few words, one thing is sure - "Do not..." is in the imperative mood. That's grammar for those of us who goofed off in school. It means a command. "Do it!" or in this case, do not do it. He's commanding us to not be troubled. So it's a choice. We can accept that command and trust him. Or we can trust other stuff and be troubled. I think we all know people that have made both of those choices. Let's choose wisely.

We sometimes feel neglected, unloved, rejected by people. And people do let us down, right April Wilson? But thanks be to God who absolutely is attentive, caring, loving, and accepting. "Look, I am with you always..." Matthew 28

Memorize Bible verses. It's not that hard but carrying them in your heart and head is better than accessing them in your printed Bible. Start with easy ones. Like John 3:16.

I attended a webinar yesterday about the current social strife. The host had 3 young men who were incarcerated recent years and told about their struggles. They are Christians now but you could still hear their pain of being mistreated, neglected, disrespected, and abandoned. They reminded us that Jesus helped them in prison. Jesus helps them today too. They still have demons from their past. So do I really. And Jesus is right there with us, helping us conquer. Didn't Paul write a letter or 2 from a prison? What can we do with what freedom we have? What can you do today?

Jesus healed a man from blindness. He had been blind his whole life. Jesus spit on the ground, made a mud ball, and put it on the man's eyes telling him to go wash it. What do we tell little boys who spit on the ground and make mud? I tell them "Stop that!" But I wasn't there to correct Jesus' bad manners. When the man washed that mud off he could see. And he could not contain his excitement. He told everyone who would listen about the wonderful thing that happened in his life. He was scolded by the church leaders but that didn't bother him a bit. So many lessons for me here.
