August Sermon Series: Life of the Beloved

Starting August 4 and continuing August 11, 18 and 25 we will endeavor to come to a greater understanding of living as spiritual people in a secular world. The back drop (supported by scripture) will be the book, Life of the Beloved by Henri J. M. Nouwen. We will explore what it means to be beloved and how we can grow closer to God as we come to understand what beloved means as we navigate the pitfalls of the secular world.

Ephesians 1:3-14
Join us this Sunday as we open the mail of the church at Ephesus and read a portion of this ancient but timeless letter about the love and grace God has for us all. Paul continually points back to God as he reveals his understanding of what God has done for us. Paul presents us with a beautiful summary of his theological understanding of the power of God. We are reminded that the blessings of God are not for the few but for all. You will be invited to find yourself in this timeless masterpiece of Divine revelation.

In the Presence of The Lord

Pentecost Sunday is this Sunday. We will talk about the incredible wellness of mind, body and soul that are ours as we allow the very Spirit of God to fill us within. Wear something red if you can and come celebrate the birthday of God’s Church and all God is doing for us.

Sunday April 21
1 John 3:16-24

For years those of us who have been followers of Christ have heard: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself”. It has sparked much conversation and debate about who exactly is my neighbor. We like knowing the expectations God has for us as we endeavor to love our neighbors. We find the commandment in the books of; Leviticus, three times in Matthew, once each in Mark, Luke, Romans, Galatians and James. The repetition in the Bible indicates it is extremely important to remember. Sunday we will talk about how we can live up to this commandment as we live life together in a complicated and diverse world. Hope to see you there!

The Walk to Emmaus
April 7, 2024

This Sunday we will be walking along with two of Jesus’ followers and listen in on their conversation with one another and the risen Jesus as they journey along the road to Emmaus on Resurrection Sunday. We are all pilgrims on the same journey back home to God but we can’t do it alone. Come and hear how God walks with us all even if we are unaware of His presence.
