What does Jeremiah 18 teach about the potter and the clay?

In this message from Jeremiah 18:1-11, we follow the prophet Jeremiah into a potter's workshop where God uses an ordinary scene to reveal an important truth about His relationship with His people. As the lesson unfolds, we discover that the message is not simply about pottery, but about listening to God's voice and responding when He speaks.

God could have spoken directly to Jeremiah, but instead He sent him to the potter's house to observe a craftsman at work. This sermon walks through Jeremiah 18:1-11 step by step, allowing Scripture to explain its own message. Rather than focusing only on the imagery of the clay, we explore what God wanted Jeremiah, and ultimately His people, to understand about His authority, His mercy, and His call to repentance. The message concludes by showing how that same call is echoed throughout the New Testament and fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
