Y Mentor

The YMCA in Easley and Pickens, in conjunction with Mentor Upstate and SDPC, is excited to bring a top notch mentoring program to Pickens County schools.

Our goal is to partner businesses, churches and civic organizations with elementary, middle and high schools in the Pickens County area to provide a framework of support to help students achieve their potential and discover their strengths.

This morning we celebrated the beginning of Year 10 of the Y Mentor - Anderson District One partnership, with our annual Welcome Breakfast event! We enjoyed having representatives from our partner schools, many returning mentors and several brand new mentors come together to celebrate and encourage each other!

A HUGE “Thank You” to Community Bible Church for hosting and providing a wonderful meal for our guests!

We are truly blessed to be able to work alongside these amazing volunteer mentors and school partners to serve the students in this community!

This week we celebrated the beginning of Year 12 of the Y Mentor - School District of Pickens County partnership, with two Welcome Breakfast events! We enjoyed having representatives from our partner schools, many returning mentors and several brand new mentors come together to celebrate and encourage each other!

A HUGE “Thank You” to ALIVE Wesleyan Church for hosting and providing a wonderful meal on Tuesday morning to our Liberty/Clemson/Central and Six Mile folks!

We’d also like to mention how accommodating The Loom was with their venue and staff on Thursday for our Easley/Pickens/Dacusville folks!

We are truly blessed to be able to work alongside these amazing volunteer mentors and school partners to serve the students in Pickens County!

As we embark on our 12th year of the Y Mentor program, we are thankful for the opportunity to serve Anderson District One, School District of Pickens County, Youth Leadership Academy of South Carolina and Lakes And Bridges Charter School!

A huge THANK YOU goes to Pickens View Wesleyan Church for inviting us out this past week to share about the opportunity to get involved with Y Mentor! It was such a blessing that 8 people signed up to be a mentor! We are looking forward to getting them trained and ready to be matched at the beginning of the school year!

We had a great time this weekend celebrating a great year of mentoring with our amazing mentors, their awesome mentees and the wonderful families that came out and enjoyed all the activities for our 2nd Annual Mentor & Me Day!

A HUGE “Thank You” to Fly Dogs Hot Dogs, Mamre Missions , Rolling Greens Mobile Mini Golf, Upstate Laser Tag, Herbert & Friends Mobile Petting Zoo LLC, Concord Baptist Church, 5 Point Church, The Storehouse, Kona Ice of Pickens and North Greenville Co., Pickens County Sheriff's Office (SC), and Easley Fire Department for coming out and being a part of this awesome day!

We can’t wait to do this again next year!
