First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove, IA is prayerfully seeking a pianist to join us in worship. If you, or someone you know, have been blessed with the gift of playing the piano and have been looking for a place to serve the Lord, we would love to hear from you.

Interested pianist will work closely with our worship leader to accompany Sunday morning services with traditional music from the hymnal. (This is a paid position.)

Worship service on Sunday, December 28, 2024 has been cancelled due to the winter storm.

While we won't be able to come together in person, here are some ways to stay spiritually nourished and connected during this time:

Reflect and Pray: You might like to light candles at home and take some time for personal bible study, or prayer.

Help Others: Reach out to neighbors and community members who may need assistance during the storm. Give someone a call to see how they are doing, offer to shovel snow, or provide support in any way you can.

Take this opportunity to focus on self-care: Rest and recharge in ways that nurture your body, mind, and spirit. You might enjoy reading a favorite book, or doing a bible study, listen to music, or spend time journaling your thoughts and reflections. Whatever brings you peace and joy in the Lord during this downtime.

Stay warm, stay safe, and may you find blessings during this time!

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that just because Christmas is a story about a baby, that it is powerless.

Everything God does is intentional. Everything He does yells, “BECAUSE I LOVE YOU! BECAUSE I WANT YOU!”

So many of us think we have to get cleaned up before we come to God.
You don’t need ‘time’ or to sort out your life before coming to Jesus. You can invite him into your mess, right now! He’s who can HELP you with your life!”

Jesus, born in a stable and laid in a manger proves we don’t have to get cleaned up before coming to God. He wants to meet us in OUR mess, if we can just find a little room for Him, even if the ‘inn of our life’ feels full. He doesn’t want perfect, He just wants you.

So, come home exactly as you are, and be met not by an angry father, scolding and punishing you, but by a gentle, kind baby. The least scary thing on the planet.

Maybe God came as a baby so we knew we wouldn’t have to be afraid of Him. 🫶

Merry Christmas - this Jesus is for you.

There was no question of naughty or nice.
God didn’t have to check a list twice.

He knew this world was broken. He knew hearts were hurting.
And still—despite it, or because of it—
He gave us the greatest gift the world has ever known.

Wrapped in swaddling clothes, laid in a manger.
Destined not for under a tree…
but placed on one.

This is Christmas.

Grace didn’t come because we were good.
Grace came because we needed a Savior.
