Father Ed shares a powerful reminder: God wants all to be included.

Our God is a God of inclusion, not exclusion. A short message of welcome, belonging, and grace for everyone.

This week in our Bearing Witness: LGBTQIA+ Stories in The Episcopal Church series, we honor Louie Crew Clay — scholar, advocate, and faithful Episcopalian.

In 1974, Louie founded Integrity, helping create a space where LGBTQIA+ Episcopalians could find community, hope, and a stronger voice in the life of the Church. His witness helped open wider doors of welcome, dignity, and belonging for so many.

As we celebrate Pride Month, we give thanks for those whose courage helped the Church grow more fully into the love of Christ.

God loves you. No exceptions.

Bearing Witness: LGBTQIA+ Stories in The Episcopal Church

This Pride Month, we remember a turning point.
In 1976, General Convention declared that "homosexual persons are children of God" and affirmed their "full and equal claim" upon the Church's love, acceptance, and pastoral care. The Church also affirmed that they are "entitled to equal protection of the laws with all other citizens."

In a time marked by silence, stigma, and exclusion, this was a bold public witness: that LGBTQIA+ people are beloved, worthy of dignity, and fully part of the Body of Christ.

That witness helped lay the groundwork for the ongoing work of inclusion across the life of the Church — in leadership, advocacy, worship, and community.

As we share one story each week this Pride Month, we give thanks for those who spoke courageously, loved faithfully, and helped move the Church closer to justice.

God loves you. No exceptions.
