Bergfuß Liut will be volunteering on the Ellerbee creek clean up. Several members and friends have taken it up themselves to have several days of clean up on the creek ahead of this official event organized by ECWA. Community involvement and environmental stewardship are encouraged within our organization.

The Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association was formed by a small group of people who care about their neighborhood creek. Although we have grown into a larger and more formal organization with 6 staff...

Bergfuß Liut had a wonderful time at Zisatag this year. We held husel at Chris Brazil's home, fulfilling his boast to host a holiday. Afterwards, the tribe headed over to the new land to burn the pinecone offering to Zisa, being one of her symbols. Wesit ir hel!

We have an exciting announcement! Tony and Julie of the Hood Household just this morning closed on a 12 acre property here in Durham. We have some smaller sections already subdivided so that we can sell them *at cost* to the Strouds and Chris Brazil for their own homes. Another section is earmarked to be donated to the Liut when we make it a legal entity.

The next few years will be a lot of work as we make several long-term goals come to fruition, chief among them a permanent Hall and dedicated, permanent Wihstaat. Wish us luck!

Yesterday we celebrated our midsummer holiday Sunnawente. It was 8 years ago this holiday that our group first formed officially. We have been through many changes over these years and have come through stronger for it. Initially Tony took on the role of Harucwart, when he needed to invest more time researching, Leigh took up the charge. With the arrival of a new baby, Leigh stepped down and Julie stepped up. This speaks to our strength as a group, there is always someone ready to pick up where the last left off. Now a we continue to raise our next generation we are encourage that Bergfuß Liut will last. We welcome a new Learner Mike Studley under Haus Stroud. Mike is already a highly motivated scholar of lore, having already complete our learner curriculum before joining. His hole digging skills are renown having raised a God pole yesterday at Haus Stroud. We look forward to our continued strengthening of our kinship. Many thanks go out to James and Jonathan, thralls of White Marsh Theod who traveled 6 hours to join us in our holy day. As always your company was wonderful and you honored us with the horns you raised in our hall. And finally the winner of our 6th annual summer games is Tony Hood of Bergfuß Liut. Competition was fierce, and ultimately it came down to some great take downs by Tony in the shield wall event. He was not, however, responsible for the collarbone injury to James. That was Chris Brazil the Collar Crusher. James showed great fortitude and insisted on continuing to compete despite his injury.
