From the CBFNC Blog: "Thanks to more than 100 generous donors, the CBFNC Hunger Fund has been replenished. This year’s Annual Gathering offering campaign, which was dedicated to the Hunger Fund, raised a total of $12,393 — a testament to the collective compassion of our fellowship."

This fund will help churches and community partners across North Carolina respond to food insecurity with compassion, hope and resources, making a direct impact to neighbors in need. We are broken and made new at the same time by the work of new creation, in the midst of this old world, by the work of new creation, in the midst of our old cells, we're still battling with these sins. We're still battling with our bad decisions. We're still battling with selfishness. And so the only thing we could ever do with someone else who's battling with sins and battling with bad decisions and battling with selfishness, is, say, welcome!"

Now many people have grown up reading Second Corinthians 517 in more of a way that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, or she is a new creation, that the person is a new creation. But really, the reading there, the way Paul writes that text and then Corinthians 517 isn't that way. In fact, what Paul writes down in the actual wording of Second Corinthians 517 simply says, if any human being, if any person is in Christ, new creation, that's what Paul writes, not he is a new creation. Simply, if you are in Christ, then bam! New creation
