People increasingly use AI chatbots for medical advice. While affording or accessing medical care is a challenge, these chatbots are not a trustworthy solution. They often share incorrect information, and they don’t protect your personal health data – which is concerning for anyone, but particularly those who might be seeking information about abortion or gender affirming care and live in a state with bans or restrictions.

Are you Peg Coded?

Peg Johnston spent decades pushing abortion care beyond politics and toward the actual, complicated, deeply individual experiences of people having abortions.

That’s what we mean by Peg Coded:

Abortion work designed around the person having the abortion—not the politics surrounding it.
It means listening before deciding what people need. Making room for relief, grief, certainty, ambivalence, humor, anger, connection, or simply wanting to get on with your life. It means refusing to flatten abortion into a political narrative when the lived experience is so much bigger.

The Peg Johnston Innovation Fund exists to fund ideas that carry that spirit forward.

If you have an unconventional, creative, practical, or disruptive idea that could make abortion care better for the people actually having abortions, ACP wants to hear it.

Two awards: $5,000 + $10,000

Following the film, healthcare providers, faith leaders, advocates, and community voices will come together for a conversation about reproductive healthcare, reproductive justice, and the policies needed to protect people’s ability to make informed decisions about their bodies, health, families, and futures.
